Still don't see how that's an excuse for them to double dip.
It's just really scummy for a sub-based game, and it doesn't help that the little Raens don't get their cute little yukatas.

They've already gone the greedy route and changed it so you can no longer get past holiday gear for gil. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to sell effectively one-time-use housing items on the mogstation. It would be right in keeping with shady f2p profit strategies in a p2p mmo.Do you think they will add the bombard lamp to the mogstation? It would be the first housing item if it was added, but that would be bizarre to spend real money on a housing item that is destroyed every time you change the ceiling lights. And no, seasonal housing items have not been added to the calamity vendor.
The dress/swimsuit this year is cute at least. :S Have such a hard time getting excited for it with the frustration of the mogstation, though...
Yeah... this isn't the right way to do gear equality. Dx Everything for everyone is much, much better!
Come on, folks, 100% of returning 2.0 events have had the old clothing return in the cash shop.
At least we're getting more than a housing decoration and maybe an accessory this time.
Before last year's halloween event, 100% of returning events had old clothing available for gil.
And you see nothing wrong with how SE completely changed their paradigm for obtaining old gear? Crappy F2P profit tactics in a P2P mmo. Oh boy!

Items that were old seasonal event gear in FF XIV, but new seasonal event gear in ARR, were sold in the vend shop.
The Yukata was the last of "old in XIV but still new in ARR"
I think it would be better to just don't bring back the old seasonal items again, not in vend shop and not in cash shop.
The people who didn't want to touch 1.x with a tweezers had their chance with ARR already.

Don't have screenshots of it, but I do recall that last moonfire faire had the past halters and tangas as well as yukatas on the in-game vendor.
Yes, it did. I was able to buy them for some new alts back then that I hadn't gotten things on in the previous moonfire faire.
There's no way to pretend SE didn't just completely rip out content contrary to a paradigm they had already established just so they could weasel in F2P-style profits in their sub game.
This would be a thousand times less frustrating than seeing them on a freaking cash shop.
Are those the Cascadiers? Are the Cascadiers coming back?!
