Always? Then explain how I got my 1.0 yukata as a non-legacy character.

Items that were old seasonal event gear in FF XIV, but new seasonal event gear in ARR, were sold in the vend shop.
The Yukata was the last of "old in XIV but still new in ARR"
I think it would be better to just don't bring back the old seasonal items again, not in vend shop and not in cash shop.
The people who didn't want to touch 1.x with a tweezers had their chance with ARR already.

Yeah. Screw all the people who didn't even know the game existed at the time! How dare they want things!Items that were old seasonal event gear in FF XIV, but new seasonal event gear in ARR, were sold in the vend shop.

SE can make them sellable in the MB. So those who did the event can buy it from the calamity NPC and resell it to those who missed the event for some thousend gil extra (see dream set and usagi kabuto).
No cash shop, no reused rewards in the vend shop and the ingame market flourish.

"No fair! Just because people played this game earlier than me they can buy and sell stuff, earning Gil easily from poor people that didn't play back then."SE can make them sellable in the MB. Is how I imagine people would react sooner or later.

I'd actually be ok with this. My main has all those items and with this change I'd be able to pass them to my Au Ra alt. Also, it'd give me a chance to piss off the MB when I give them away for free like I did with the 1.0 Chirstmas items last Christmas when they hit 100k a pop on the MB. It was wonderful, having Roes in snowman outfits dancing around and shouting near the Calamity Salvager.SE can make them sellable in the MB. So those who did the event can buy it from the calamity NPC and resell it to those who missed the event for some thousend gil extra (see dream set and usagi kabuto).

Edit: It was a bit sad too, a lot of people asked for the Reindeer Suit I couldn't trade them. ; ;

Only 1.0 stuff was sold on vendors, everything from 2.0 has been added to cash shop

Still don't see how that's an excuse for them to double dip.
It's just really scummy for a sub-based game, and it doesn't help that the little Raens don't get their cute little yukatas.

oh I agree, I think gear from previous years should be sold at vendors, that is not how it is done unfortunately
