Should I still do side quests?

My main job is currently 54 and half away to 55. I already got all the aether currents in the Dravanian Hinterlands and made it to Idyllshire. However there are still a bunch of side quests in the hinterlands that are around level 52. Is it worth it to do all these side quests with a 54 or should I just continue with the main story quests and then use those side quests to help lower up a lower job?

Yes. There's a lot of interesting stories to hear and even possibly some gear/items to obtain. Also, in 2.x there were things that only became accessible after you'd done certain side quests so it's easier to get them done and out of the way. =)

Maybe I'm stupid here, but how did you get past Vault (and presumably Library too if you have all Hinterlands currents) if you never made it past level 54? >_>

I didn't remember seeing a single quest around that area that was under 57...

its a matter of preference if you like the extra story do them, if you prefer dungeon or fate grinding to sidequests or don't like how many they are/don't care for the extra stories then skip them

Do the side quests with your alt jobs. Main scenario and dungeons give your main what you need (plus daily roulettes, challenge log, etc). It's going to be tougher to level the alt jobs until you get the armory bonus anyhow.

I continued and reached 60 without wasting the exp from those quests. So I suggest continue with the main quest first.

Yes I am aware of that as I have gotten some gear already from side quests. I still plan on doing those side quests with alt jobs, but I guess I will continue with the main story as my brd.

You can't even get the quest from Y'shtola to continue the MSQ in Idyllshire, until level 59...so I'm thinking you're meaning the Dravanian FORElands has lots of level 52-54 side quests.
