I don't want WoW to die. Competition is vital to the quality of a constantly evolving product like an MMO. You know what happens when a developer doesn't feel the looming threat of its competition's innovations and starts believing it can do no wrong and the players will gobble up whatever vision they dream up? Whether FFXIV suffers the same fate as WoW will depend the the adaptivity of YoshiP and company.

Blizzard stubbornly stuck to their raid or die mindset where the entire game is build around raiding. WoW continues its slow but steady demise.

Many players over the weeks have suggested what they hope to see - primarily the "it's the same as 2.0" threads. YoshiP and friends can follow WoW in steplock into the grave with the "themepark of raids" philosophy or take our suggestions and requests into consideration.

I have to respectfully disagree with this. WoW has remained undisputed as THE mmo for the good part of the decade thanks to its end game raid content. The reason people are leaving is because they feel Blizzard is moving away from that raid focus IMO. The game has to many mandatory chores like garrisons, the professions have been gutted and now anyone can participate in raid content. It is the fact they have bent over to the casual player base that is killing the game.

I do wish the demise of a game of people do enjoy, because they support a company by pulling this crap with 5.4/WoD, so yeah kick em in the head while theyre down. Blizzard deserves it. And as for the content in ffxiv im not giving SE suggestions i have faith in them to blow our socks off.

Jesus, Bitter much.. At the end of the day no one is forcing you to play WoW and its still a game millions of players enjoy. I really don't understand why someone would wish for the death of a game, RIP SWG Pre CU & CoH/V's <3 you'll be sorely missed.

Honest question.

Why would you want to kill a game people still enjoy? I'm asking this seriously, because I'm still not happy with City of Heroes shutting down, and I would never willingly wish that on any other gamer who enjoys the game they play.

I quit wow then went to ESO then came to FF14 after I got bored of ESO (after 3 months. WoW I stayed with for 7.5 years). FF14 is a far superior game to WoW. FF14 deserves to be number 1. I don't want to see WoW die. All I want is for FF14 to have more subs than WoW does.

I think SE should focus on making FFXIV a more varied and awesome game in its own right, and not worry about "going in for the kill" on anyone else.

And anyway, don't know what Blizzard's doing over there anymore (they jumped the shark a long time ago), but they seem to be doing a great job of killing the game themselves, without anyone's 'help'.

My Husband and I just quit WoW and decided to give FFXIV a try.. We are both noobs but already enjoy this game a lot. I don't wish for WoW to die but they certainly won't have our money anymore.
