I suppose that's one way to prevent new players from entering overpopulated servers..

Well for people that didn't know character creation is based on how many people are on. Not current population. So saving a character before time and logging in right after server goes up will generally net you a slot. I made 7 alts the other day as place holders since each gets 3 fantasia anyways.

Now with that said, I don't understand what they are really saying. It needs a little better translation.

Price to pay for not signing up when it was new. You can still create a character, just very early in the morning....LOL

I still think you should be able to create as many characters as you want, up to the limit for your account, on any server you have characters on.

Locking me out of making an alt on a server I main on, when two toons on the same account can't even be logged in at the same time anyways, is stupid.

It probably has to do the with the way they structured their servers or some such, where the server doesn't (can't) check whether you have a character already or not when asking to create one. Whether it would be easy to fix or not I don't know, but it's really annoying.

Except it can, because you're limited to X per world per account type.

Oh yeah. Well, what better way to depopulate a full server than coercing people who want an alt to jump ship? :^)
