I guess it'll be a lot more difficult making characters in overpopulated servers; typically, people would wait on or after maintenance to hopefully create a character, but it seems as af SE is going to prevent that from now on.

Not if you're on Excalibur :^) Been trying to make my alt for a week. I've seen literally every server open *except* that.

I still think you should be able to create as many characters as you want, up to the limit for your account, on any server you have characters on.

Locking me out of making an alt on a server I main on, when two toons on the same account can't even be logged in at the same time anyways, is stupid.

It probably has to do the with the way they structured their servers or some such, where the server doesn't (can't) check whether you have a character already or not when asking to create one. Whether it would be easy to fix or not I don't know, but it's really annoying.

Except it can, because you're limited to X per world per account type.

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding here, but it seems to me that this isn't saying that worlds won't go down for maintenance, but rather that they won't be crashing/preventing log in attempts when the server is at max capacity "such as right after a maintenance"........

I'm assuming that it means full worlds like Balmung won't open up anymore.
