Good point, a matching GB for each gun does not appear to be very much different from Bards getting unique quivers. Sure, quivers aren't animated, but I think the effort would have been worth it.
Bet the Wrench was the original Crafting tool for Machinist when it was a Crafting Class before 3.0![]()

Yeah, that doesn't work for me when, constantly and without exception, I'm still the one doing all of their work for them.
You know how to make a player not feel special? Give them a challenge that they can't overcome, or put them in a situation where they have to be saved. Give me a Megaman X moment where I'm about to lose, but I'm then saved by a hero. Give me a situation that I can't solve until I become stronger. The MCH questline had none of this.
How in the world, is everyone in the guild completely clueless as to why the most liked and competent member just up, got married, and left? You're in Ishgard. Political underhanded schemes are the norm. WHY DID NO-ONE POSSIBLY THINK THAT HOUSE DZEMAEL WAS SCREWING THEM.
So until you show me that other NPCs are actually competent, I am the special snowflake. Until you can prove me otherwise that I'm not the best at my job, I clearly am.
You have to remember that in Ishgard it is also common for Commoner family attempt to have their daughter marry into the Noble House as a attempt to reach higher status as well.
Also they did suspect something was wrong due to her father disappearing but of course the Quest ended at the point where they have yet to find where he is and continues in the next quest after they have found his location.
It would be simple to suspect House Dzemael but in Ishgard all four houses are at each others throats so the other three houses are not above suspecion as well due to each house having their own corrupt noble as part of their family. The MCH Guildmaster did state after all that the current antagonist of MCH story is only one of the few Nobles that see the threat of Machinist to Ishgard society which implies there are other nobles in each House that are against the advancement of Machinists even among his own family.
Like Razor said part of MCH story follow Ishgard's society system which is a Game of Subterfuge among the nobles where anyone is a suspect and anything can be true or false.
While the story does make it obvious it is the Antagonist using his House influence in "the Game" placing such accusations without solid proof will only lead the action backfiring on them or end up acting in a way that would accuse the wrong person just like the real criminal wanted the Person to act.
Each of them acted accordingly to what is happening since they know the Game of Houses well enough to not just outright accuse House Dzemael due to it may be the other houses as well or a possibility it may be a member of the MCH guildmaster's own family.
The other members of the Machinist team did help as well even if it most of the time off scene. When the Machinist guild was being sabotaged the other members helped locate and stop the saberteurs which the WoL only had to deal with a small group due to the others helping. When the Dragons attacked each Machinist helped defend each turret location made each location defense possible due to their help, not to mention tracking down Joye's father was possible due to Stephanivian's House connection, and even on the final boss fight the Dragon was only taken down due to the other Machinist helping with defending the NPCs and attacking the Dragon. The WoL was only a part of the Team that helped in his or her own way.
(I'll just end my discussion about like or disliking the MCH Job storyline here since at this point we can only agree to disagree.)
You could always ask that Goblin in Idyllshire siad....

Of course SE doesn't want the Mini-Bomb to bring the DOOM.![]()

By all means, I'm not going to make you answer if you do not wish to. My closing points.
1.) I didn't say they needed to accuse anyone. All of the NPCs involved seem to not even know that something is afoot. It's hard to solve a problem when you're not sure what caused it. If they knew where to start looking it would have solved their problem sooner. Everyone in the room was an idiot.
2.) You said nothing disagreeing with how I described what a storyline that makes the WoL feel weak would play/look like, and how the current MCH questline isn't at all similar. Conveying that the player needs the others help is done poorly, at no point during my play was I ever relieved or even noticed the other NPC's involvement. My point still stands, that I disagree entirely that the PC is supposed to feel lesser in the job's story.
It certainly pales in comparison to some of the far better Job/class stories out there.

Sorry I was still editing and typing in my post when you posted this but I added my response to your other question being...By all means, I'm not going to make you answer if you do not wish to. My closing points.

Exactly! I'll take the GB floaty thing any day. Just please change the animation to something like my character is aiming, and there are sparkles around the barrel so you get that aether bullet vibe.
You know what? Forget the sparkles, just make it so my character looks like he's lining up a shot.
Or anything besides the waving of the magic gun-wand.
Thank you,
-All Machinists

I would actually like them to put laser beam lines or some kind of cross-hairs for some of our skills.. to add some flair lels.
