I have some Gil ready to buy those Kimono's/Yukata's from last year...! I wasn't around then... Kicking myself for stopping the subscription...

But this tactic of putting event stuff up in the Cashshop that were easily gotten in game from a vendor!? NO! BAD!!

I don't have any cash right now! I don't even know if I'll HAVE it in time for the dang event! It's why I've waited to rely on the in game vendors!

And now I won't even have the opportunity!?

No, it's always got to be down to the almighty dollar!

For god sakes, stop putting DUMB items into the Cash Shop! Old event items aren't meant for that, or at least... that's how I see it!

KEEP IT IN GAME!!! THAT WAY I'M GUARANTEED IT!!!

Or, if it's possible to take the middle ground... Sell the old items in game via Vendor for the time of the event, BUT put them up in the shop AFTER the event is over for those who still want them!

I think that's a good middle point...

I miss how it was in FFXI. Each year you had a chance to get the old items, but also new items!

I hope they revert it as well. Not too keen on spending money on the clothing glamours. I really like the Slime Crown though Wish I hadn't ignored it.

I think it'd be fair to have the items available from an NPC if they're from the same event (Moon Faire, Halloween, Christmas, Easter, ect), and then have them in the cash shop as well. That way you have the ability to get the items in the game for a limited amount of time every year, or if you were to miss the event again or someone were to join after the event, they could get the items without waiting a whole year, they'd just have to pay for it.

The old way was "If you missed the event you don't get the item ever."
What you're describing is this hybrid way they put in during the 1.0>2.0 transition for events before the cash shop launched.

If SE had to have cash shop items I'd prefer it to be those though... rather than exclusive never available in game before item. Of course the prefence is no cash shop at all, but they've proven that's not an option.

Not adding these vanity items to the cash shop would be the equivalent of leaving money on the table. I rather they take your money to better this game. Besides, the precedent has already been set, so just get your wallet ready when the time comes.

Why do they have to guarantee you anything? Look, I agree that it would be nice if they included all of the old stuff on the vendor but Shougun is right, if they're going to have a cash shop, I'd rather they do this than only doing exclusives. Yes it would be preferable to have it in game, but at least it's not gone forever and is available even after the event is over.
