It's time to stand up for us Monks.

Instead of talking about the disadvantages Monks have at the moment like maintaining Grease lightning, I'd rather focus on something most people over look. The way the gear looks. Now I understand that the developers wish to be unique, however I feel that we Monks have suffered heavy in the looks department. Particularly the male's. If you really look closely we only have one other piece of gear that could be considered monk gear which would be the lvl 58 gear that was copy and pasted among machinist, bards, and ninjas.I find that some choices such as giant blades on a monk, lack of monk robes of any sort, copy/paste dragoon alexander/law gear, heavy female influenced esoteric gear, etc is really detrimental to my enjoy-ability in this game. All I wish is to actually look like a male monk in robes (not dresses, skirts, or kilts)who fights with his fist. From looking at Female monks vs Male monks I can see that their is an extremely heavy bias toward females. Please can you fix this.

Sorry man but he looks like a circus performer. Here are some examples of monks. I doubt anything will happen, but I have to try anyway. Who knows maybe people will be inspired more in this direction in the future.

That's like saying chocobos aren't REAL mounts because OTHER games have horses. While I respect your opinion that male Monk equipment should look more 'manly' -- I have several friends who have said the same thing -- to say that they are 'not Monks' is absurd. This game belongs to Square Enix, as does the realm of Eorzea, as well as all the other realms featured in past FF games. Simply put, SE can decide the style of Monks in their worlds. It doesn't make them fake Monks. It makes them Monks designed by SE.

Why not take inspiration from those Monks that you consider to be more aesthetically pleasing, and use it to design your own custom look? As others said, that's exactly what glamour is for. You don't want to look like all the other Monks in Idyllshire anyways, do you?

those are all monks from different games. monks in FF look like yang. all of the job armor is based off of a certain aesthetic, they're always going to keep to that aesthetic whether people like it or not. thats why glamour exists, if you dont like it you're free to change.

I hope your wrong. No offense. Yang looks nothing like a monk. Looks more like a clown in flashy pants with braids. I glamour all the time, but the problem is their is not anything to glamour too. I use different classes. it just sucks that my favorite and main doesn't actually look like its name lol.

There was talk of gender specific AF2 armor after you "repair" it so maybe it would change. I would love to see the halter top dropped and just have the tattoos on the chest for males. Also the weird hat isn't something they've had before in previous games, why not the old school Ryu headband which has been in previous FFs.

Monk gear is one of the reasons I play the job. It's so colorful, flashy and full of life. Also I like the wrap around the chest area. I like it with the Arachne set I'm wearing now and I like it with the AF2. I don't like being straight up shirtless to be honest but I do still like to show off a bit.

I think AF1 is a good alternative if you're not a fan of the more revealing attire. Or how about they add the armor for the job that monk advances into in FF3 which is the BlackBelt.
