Unable to launch updater??

I upgraded to Win10 a few days ago and the game has been running fine through last night (August 3rd). This morning ( August 4th) when I try to login, I get this while trying to start the game from the launcher:

Unable to launch FINAL FANTASY XIV Updater
[11035] [30425] [30415] [5] [19900] [5]
(filepath to ffxivupdater.exe here)

This happens after using the standard FFXIV launcher with version number 2015.06.12.0000.0001 at the top as usual and the same with (1543683) at the lower right above the Facebook/Twitter/YouTube buttons. I enter my ID and password, it goes to "Checking FINAL FANTASY XIV" longer than usual, then <blip!> with the above-stated error message from the launcher. Not really wanting to uninstall/reinstall seeing as how it was working fine 12 hours ago with no downtime maintenance since the last time I logged in.

Seems I am not the only one having this problem! Wish I could find something that would let me know if they are even aware of this, and trying to fix it. Plzz Fix this issue!

I've been having issues all day as well. Starting yesterday the game kept crashing on me with 90001 error. Today trying to patch I got a unable to complete version check [??? don't remember the numbers] and when I tried to redo it I kept getting a Unable to launch. It wouldn't even attempt to patch anymore. So I went to google the issue, followed what people said and nothing worked.

After all of that I deleted the game entirely and reload it. Every few minutes the download stops and gives me a Unable to download patch files [30413][20496] forcing me to restart. Luckily each time it shows there is less to download each time.

Windows 10 screwed everything up for me. I had no issues with windows 8.1.

It is now Aug. 4, '15 2:12PM EDT and it still won't launch. After a little messing around with the settings before trying to launch the game, the error pop-up changes as follows:

If DX9 is used, it gives [11035] [30425] [30415] [5] [19900] [5]
If DV11 is used, it gives [11035] [30425] [30415] [5] [19900] [5] [19901] [13]

Same thing here. but if we are unable to launch the updater what can SE do, they could patch it all we want but we coudnt get the patch...

To those wondering i asked for help on reddit and a user by the name of Xendors suggested to run it as admin since it seemed like a permission error. Spoiler , it works.

The "checking launcher version" window before is still showing same as it usually does, so it's probably an update to the launcher that we're not able to get, but it still shows the same version number so the "pre-launcher" check loads the version we already have. They can change the launcher version number to see if that can help the issue. It's ffxivupdater.exe that won't run, not the launcher updater. I may be wrong, but that's what it looks like from what I'm seeing each time I try.

I'm going to try complete uninstall/reinstall and see if it helps. Will edit this with results (currently 8/5/15 04:30EDT)

05:25am-- uninstalled just fine, reinstall won't work. It did the language selection after running ffxivsetup.exe and instant "yada yada stopped working. Microsoft is searching for a solution to your problem" crap. Downgraded from Win10 back to Win7, thinking maybe one of the little tick-me-off hiccups in Win10 was why it wouldn't reinstall. Even removed AV and net security software. No good, still won't reinstall. Keep getting insta-splat "not working" pop-up in Win7.
