I agree, but I have to believe that this is future proofing us for something. Wouldn't be too surprised if new relic has some crafting tied to it like Zodiac did.
Maybe. But I think there's a lot of pointless grinding, like hours and hours of gathering for 3 minutes of crafting. All this grinding is terrible, and they're making it even worse by making it useless atm... my opinion is that all this effort can't be just for the sake of doing it or based on the hope that maybe we will use it...
Se made it clear they wont be making the same mistake of involving crafting gear with raiding lol. Even if they added i180 or i200 accessories in 3.1, why would ppl buy them? Ppl would be decked out in eso gear and ppl who would buy it would have already cleared alex savage.
Crafted gear? I doubt by then ppl would have more than 2 full sets of the new 2* gear so y would they replace something that fast ( its gated lmao ).
Se kinda screwed themselves on the flow of crafting as its becoming more inaccessible to casuals.
DoW/DoM gear could sell if the ilvl difference was not abysmal from ESO gear and mats were not so ridiculous to get; especially for those that are hardcore raiders since ilvl is not all that matters. For reference, the day Lucrezia downed A1 Savage, I checked on Lodestone and some players had crafted accessories with overmelding. I agree that a lot of people won't buy it, but some will, I sold a lot of ilvl110 gear before HW. They could have added more glamour pieces or whatever, but there's no recipes worth so much grinding, that's the point.
They made crafting inaccessible and pointless. You spend gil on mats to craft collectables, to get scrips, to change for tokens, to change for gear, to be able to craft exactly same looking gear with better stats, that is worth nothing cause the most difficulty recipes is the gear itself.
People would buy the crafted gear for the same reason people did prior to 3.0. Alot of the crafted gear was BiS if melded correctly. People look at ilvl and say "thats the best!" but when you really look at something like stat weights, things change. Same reason why alot of people who already had the hive weapon did not go with the eso weapon first, because when you get into theorycrafting and stat weights and how they effect your dps, things can be looked at different." Great example was the poetic chest for bards- people were gimping their dps by even having it- the ilvl 110 was better. my 2 cents
But yea they did not fix crafting with the current changes SE really needs to wake up and realize the whole system of favors, scrips and how we are completly gated by it is NOT fun but tedious and just needs a complete overhaul. The idea behind it was great IMO but the execution and final design of it completly sucks.
