Need some advise please

Hi!

My previous character was a WHM lvl50. I rushed until lvl50 and I felt something wrong. Now I have transferred to another server for the reason of I want to start again. Because I stopped playing a year ago and now I want to experience the game again.
My question is I want also to try the DOH and DOL. I chose to be a Gladiator for this time. What gathering class and crafting class should I make? Should I level them together with my GLA?

Hope you can give me some advice. I’m a bit confused if I will pursue DOH and DOL class.

For making your own equipment, DoL I would go with miner. DoH, well ARM to start with but people usually level all of them for the cross class skills. Which helps with being able to synth HQ items. It does help leveling together so you can make the equipment for you level. May want to atleast level LTW also. If I remember quite a few items require leather items too, or buy them from the MB.

Expect a longggg grind getting those DoL/DoH to 50... it puts me off really. people says its fast to 50, but not in my opinion.

If you already have a class to 50, there's no reason to not level others together -- you'll get the armory bonus just the same.

If you have the expac you may want to take one of them to 60 ahead of the others, however.

Leveling DoH and DoL together with your first DoW/DoM class gives you an advantage in making your own gear. Personally, I enjoy that part, but it does slow things down significantly, which many people don't like, so a lot of people choose to wait and level them along with secondary alt classes instead.

It is very helpful to advance all the crafting classes together through at least the first 15 levels, to get the first set of cross-class skills. After that, you can focus on one or a few at a time the rest of the way to 50. (Though for endgame crafting, you'd want to eventually get them all to 50. There's another important set of cross-class skills there.) As to which to focus on first at that point, I'd say Armorer, for your Gladiator's gear, Leatherworker which as Eye_Gore mentioned makes a lot of the materials Armorer uses, and Weaver, to make your DoH/DoL gear (plus it also pairs well with LTW for making each other's materials).

Ok I will try to level each class to 15 as Niwsahi says and see what I can do. I just want to feel that I can earn gil by myself and be self sufficient. And I know it will be a long journey.
But anyway I will try and learn step by step.

Im planning to level 1st my GLA until 30 to get some gils. Should that be ok?

Most of your gear will be given to you in MS anyway so the need to make your own gear isn't really that dire. If you wish to level up a DOH quickly ask a person who already has it at 50 and request that you make you HQ for to hand in on leve quest as HQ will double EXP gained and if it's under LV50 your 1st Class will be getting a 50% bonus and your 2nd under LV50 class will get a 100% EXP bonus.

Well that is a good strategy handing over HQ items on leve quests. Ok I will try if someone can craft some leve HQ items for me.
So is the EXP bonus only work if I have my main job at 50 only?

Your main combat job has nothing to do with crafting XP. Martin suggested getting a 50 crafter to make the stuff for you because they can HQ the stuff easier than you can while they're well above its level and you're on-level.

Having a DoW/DoM class above your current one does give you a bonus for other DoW/DoM classes, but not for DoH/DoL. (And even on DoW/DoM it has nothing to do with level 50, just higher than your current one.)
