Thank you. Obviously I overreacted about the whole thing, but you have to understand that while yes I made the choice to stay up I thought I was doing so to watch a translated video. I'm likely going to be banned from this forum for my profanity strewn comments and I understand that. However, they have put me in a considerably bad mood.

My students will be the ones to suffer as a result of this. I just don't think that is fair... I'm rewriting their midterm's essay questions now. You indirectly forced my hand Bayonne. You made me do this because you couldn't do your job and properly inform the English community you represent about this important surrounding information regarding the live letter.

(I'm joking of course... I'm not really joking, but I'm not foaming at the mouth as you might imagine. Honestly, I think my classes were too easy anyways, and it isn't going to kill anyone to have to do a little extra thinking because I'm in a bad mood.)

Sometimes you take a topics course thinking it will be an easy A to pad your GPA (kind of like thinking you can simply watch a video and not learn the intricacies of how to follow a frivolous social networking site), and sometimes you are simply misinformed.

Someone after my own heart <3... Flying Spaghetti Monster curse all those social networking abominations.

Also real time translation and/or captioning isn't rocket science (unless the translator/captionist is translating/captioning comments by rocket scientists). It has worked for great many totally unrelated people from the hearing impaired to members of the judiciary to UN delegates for a very long time. I think a company the size of SE could have swung at least English if not also French and German translation for an hour or two during the meeting. Might cost a couple hundred bucks... not inordinate for a bit of good PR for a company that size.

It was really to be expected. From my point of view English translator would have been nice especially since alot of EU people speak English, but that might be unfair to not have translators for all so it doesn't really bother me, all the questions got loaded to twitter page and translated.

I still sat and watched it regardless I couldn't understand but a word here and there.

Actually my final comment regarding the live cast is that I thought it was nice to see Yoshi explain what he could (even if only in Japanese). It goes to show that there are actual people making this game and not robots like 98% of this forums' members think is working on it.

Plus the music in the background was nice.

Eh, Youtube, Jtv/whatever it's called now and Ustream all have easy to work with APIs, though Youtube is a popular live stream site as well for developers/news and so on. The only problem is countries that like to block content for no reason which is really out of their control as even Ustream is blocked for some.

Honestly, calm all your farms. Crying over spilt milk, honestly. Bayhone did not lie to us; he just didn't give us full information, which is what normally happens anyway. I'm not particularly happy at it, but I accept it, and I got a fun time tonight translating as best as I can and giving the twitter translations to my LS in-game. Adapt to situations; you should know about that from a professional business side of view.

#XIVLive Q: Is there any information you can provide regarding the impending doom of Eorzea?

A: Out of the 4 keywords that I provided earlier in the year (FUN, LIVE, REBOOT, REBUILD), the keyword “LIVE” will have a huge impact for this event. You’ll notice many changes that will occur in the world of Eorzea. I would like you see the changes for yourself in patch 1.19 and then use your imagination for what’s to come.

I think that little tidbit with the Garleans taking out the aetheryte crystals is a hint as to what to expect with this new "LIVE" Eorzea - contested territories.

This is different than I imagined. So basically get a Class to 30 to unlock that Class' Job, which you will have to level up again from level 1.

I kinda thought they would unlock at 50 and start at 50, but that was all assumption. In any case, this makes it easier to get the Job you want and gives those who have already leveled to 50 something new to level.

Misread, you can "attach" a job to your class. So if you are a Gladiator 30, and just unlocked Paladin, you become a lv.30 Paladin, then you can take the job off, and be a lv.30 Gladiator again. Jobs are specs, not a whole new breed of classes.
