Which is was...however people are so bent out over the fact a Japanese studio did a stream in Japanese. They did say to check Twitter, which is where it was written, which people even copy and pasted in the various topics on this.
Nothing wrong with Japanese developers doing a Japanese stream...we got the translations in english, german & french within 1-2 minutes after the questions were asked and thats good enough for me.
Obviously can't change what happened this time but it would be appreciated if next time around they had multiple streams for JP/ENG/GRM/FRA with the JP being the main live stream then the ENG / GRM / FRA just having the translators speaking instead of the audio in the JP stream. This would make it go a bit slower since they would have to wait for the translators to finish there verbal translation but it would be a huge boon to all the non-japanese speaking people out there.
What was posted on twitter was a pretty brief summary of the Q/A (Possibly because twitter has a char limit I think?) so I await the official translation of the whole thing to see if there was anything additional they said that didn't get into those short Q/A tweets (Though it's probably just banter and general japery).
So did anyone get any shots of these new things that they were discussing? I can't find pictures of the male mithra, the female highlander, the new map, etc, anywhere.
Maybe releasing an additional class to go along with an additional/unannounced job?Conjuror >>> White Mage (or Black Mage depending on how they roll it out)
Thaumaturge >>> Black Mage (or White Mage depending on how they roll it out)
Gladiator >>> Paladin
Lancer >>> Dragoon
Pugilist >>> Monk
Marauder >>>> Warrior
Archer >>> Bard (Supposedly)
Isn't that all the DoW/Ms covered. But yet we still have one job that's yet to be announced?
Here's hoping that Bard comes from a DoL/H job; and that Archer >>> Ranger!!!
But with the bowharp and all, i guess highly unlikely.
In any case, Thief would be nice too!
warrior was the final job that Yoshi-P was talking about as if I recall correctly he never officially stated that Marauder would become Warrior (hence all that speculation when the Famitsu magazine was released with the job armors).
It was not the fact that Twitter was too complicated, it is because it is too cumbersome and limited in scope.
1. It failed to filter out any question that did not have a response.
2. When you did find a response you had to open a seperate window to see the full response.
3. All messages in all languages were shown. I am sure that my friends from around the world had valuable questions and comments. But because I have enough trouble with American let alone another language I was unable to share in them.
4. not everything Yoshi-P was saying was presented on Twitter. I missed most of the visual aspects such as the maps and the like because I was constantly scrolling through Twitter looking for nuggets of information.
I understand and respect the fact that Square is a Japanese company employing Japanese speaking people. What Square must realize is that their game extends far beyond the Home Islands and not everyone thinks and reacts to information the same. If they are going to continue to use YouTube to reach out to the whole community they must, at the very least, try to understand how we think and react to information presented. For most Westerners the proof is in the details, details, details.
Q: It looks like the game is on the way of becoming another FFXI. Is this intentional?
Whoever asked that question must be a flippin retard, did he even play FFXI? This is going opposite direction of FFXI lol, having auto attack doesn't make it FFXI. if it has Ballista, Sub Job, HNM, Dynamis like, Assault like, then we r talking!
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
