    This actually does happen when we're learning English in Japan. English has quite a bit of nuances that doesn't make sense at first, much like people learning Japanese won't get a lot of the slang that people use these days.

    Have people ever heard talk about the Germans having no sense of humour? Well they do, but you need to "get" it first.
