What do you do when a DPS doesn't DPS and only heals?

I was just in Hullbreaker Isle and the SMN was new which is fine. They had a few other classes but SMN was their highest and they didn't have SCH at all so they aren't primarily a healer etc. What kept happening was the tank would go from 100%, take a tiny bit of damage down to like 90%, and they would be casting Physik on him. As soon as they would take a tiny bit of damage they were doing Physik as well. When we were on the first boss literally it was Physik, Physik, Physik, over and over, like maybe one Bio II and then non stop Physik. I kept telling them to just DPS because everyone was dropping HP like crazy since there was only really one person DPSing but they refused. At one pull before the first boss I had to just let them die because they absolutely would not stop casting Physik so finally I just stopped healing them myself and let them wipe and we finished it without them. On the first boss though we kept wiping because of them, like everyone would be at 100% HP, someone takes the tiniest bit of damage (the kind where it's not even worth healing the person since Medica II would have them at 100% in about 5 seconds type thing) and sure enough you'd see their action bar "Physik, Physik, Physik". As soon as we finished the boss I voted dismiss and the others agreed, but we were at like 25 minutes already and still at the first boss when normally the whole instance should have been done by then. Hate to do that but what else do you do in those situations? It's one thing when someone is new but this is a level 50 dungeon and to not know what your job is is a bit shocking to me especially since you've had to do much harder stuff to get to that point, so not like this is Sastasha normal mode or something where those things are understandable. I'm not one of those players at all, as I'm not some pro so usually second guess myself. But I do know that a DPS that is casting 98% Physik and the rest Bio II and Miasma is not doing their job properly and making it take 10x longer for us. The only way we finished the first boss was letting them die and ME DPSing a ton!

The answer is simple and you already did both, explain to them that they're playing their class wrong. If they won't listen then they get the boot.

^ Pretty much this. Unfortunately, that's all you can really do when faced with a situation like that.

That's what I figured, I was worried they wouldn't agree and then would hate me since it was obviously me voting them out lol. Luckily that's rare and only happened a few times. I don't get it though, not sure if they think they are helping or what but I always take it personally like they think I can't heal or something. Since I could do a Cure II and heal them for probably more than they could do casting Physik 3 times. Especially when they are healing the tank or others, just makes me shake my head.

Suggest to them strongly that they go Scholar.

It sounds to me like they are confused on what a summoner or scholar is....

I warn them once that stopping to cast their weak heal will probably get them killed, and that they should focus on dropping enemies and performing mechanics while I cover them.

If they ignore this advice, they will eventually die from standing in a lethal AoE while trying to cast Physick. I might rez them when SC is up, but I won't be in a hurry.

Yeah makes sense. It's hard because I'm on PS4 as well so to type I have to put the controller down so makes it hard sometimes to quickly tell people things as if I'm typing and press X for example on the controller it will send the message if I'm not out of the chat box. I don't think it was a troll though that was the sad part, like at the start they were talking about being new etc. My surprise was more than someone in a level 50 dungeon doesn't know they don't heal themselves!
