I thought the closest thing we have to a vampire is the Dark Knight. I might have to play DRK more, just to be sure.

Dark Knight does have some vampirism going on.

Syphon Strike sucks MP and Souleater sucks health.

Blood Weapon turns us temporarily into MP vampires. Dark Arts Abyssal Drain sucks out health from everyone it hits. Sole Survivor gives us HP and MP if the marked enemy dies quick enough. Not sure if Blood Price counts, I always considered it more along the lines of fueling yourself through pain than draining it from others.

... but remember, Dark Knights use dark arts and are shunned for it. Any straight-up vampires or necromancers need to keep on the DL even if they're heroic.

I agree on things like The Corpse Brigade in Southern Thanalan since they seem to be sentient, thinking, beings.

That's because the Corpse Brigade are living, thinking, sentient beings - they're not undead (unfortunately!).

Once an arm of the proud Ala Mhigan army, the Corpse Brigade has devolved into a band of bandits and petty thieves, albeit well-trained ones. Several of the former soldiers earn their keep by setting up illegal roadblocks and demanding coin for passage. Show the curs that the sultana will not allow such acts under her rule.

They are former Ala Mhigans loyal to the King - they are the ones mentioned in the storyline as sexually assaulting/raping women from Little Ala Mhigo, and are quite violent bandits.

Vampire Lampern: Just as its name implies, the vampire lampern is indeed a sucker of blood, using its multiple rows of teeth to latch onto its prey, whether it be sea or land creature, and bore a hole from which to drink.

Vampire Plant: This rare variety of parasitic plant is known to suck the lifeblood from all flora with which it comes in contact.

Garlean Garlic: A pungent spice used to flavor many different varieties of dishes. It is also thought to ward off vampiric bats, but there is no evidence to substantiate that claim.
