I do not know of a real solution other then what others have said about posting must do a minimum of 700dps or something.
I know my first run at it, only myself as blm and a smn pushed over 700 dps but would wager that now that we know the fight our other dps in the FC do more as well.
But 700 sort of is a minimum on that fight to be honest.
Can you not run with your FC OP?
As for parser, i want but do not want it implemented. If it would somehow work to just show your own parse i am ok with that but if it shows parse of other members i can see that being abused and people getting vote kicked.
At the same token though if you just would use df you really should not complain as it is to be expected that some dps may not be up there.

It's kind of a Catch-22. Let's be honest for a moment, an in-game parser that could be seen by all party members would be used to attack other players. That's a fact. Does not matter if this a toxic or non-toxic or whatever community, it's just the way of the world. We all run the instances. Constructive criticism is NOT the norm. Just being real.

That being said... I'm still all for it. The good outweighs the bad in my opinion. It's a MMO. Get thick skin or get out. Use the criticism to fuel your improvement. It works this way in all competition. Be it sports, work, school, etc.

Players are being kicked already for underperforming, adding a parser won't change that. It will change that players being kicked will know why if they think they are playing adequately and ignore any advice because they think their way is good enough, then they get a loading screen from being removed from the party. Without parser they will think everyone else was in the wrong. With a parser the rest of the party will be able to say "look, you are the reason we cannot kill this, the numbers prove it. So, try that advice I gave you about your rotation and you will see an improvement."

Do you not think that players may be getting frustrated because they know certain players are underperforming, and they have no way to actually, officially prove that the underperforming player is preventing completion of the duty? They can't help people who are admant they are in the right, and without official parsers they cannot prove it that they need help.

At least then the player being kicked KNOWS he did something wrong and has to read up his job.
The current situation is actually a lot worse. Now we have people kicking others on the notion of bad dps.
But how do you know it is true? All of you who are talking about trolls abusing every mechanic in the game, you actually give the trolls a way to abuse.
There is nothing worse than not knowing what happened. Were you kicked because your dps was bad? Were you kicked because of trolls?
With an ingame parser you can shrug it off if it was not your dps after all and report the kickers.

So once again, the people defending this from being implemented, actually currently defending all these "trolls and abusers".

Did you even read the rest of my post where I ultimately side with implementing an in-game parser? I don't think the other person that responded did either, so don't feel bad.

I'm just being very REAL when I say that people will not offer "constructive criticism" as often as you think. The norm will be insults, sighs, blasts, and general ass hatery... all of which will mostly be propagated by mid-tier players being given an opportunity to feel better about themselves at the expense of others a shade below them. Since "mid-tier" players are by far the majority playing this game, expect this to be common behavior. It's just the way it is and anyone that has pugged an instance that has gone south can attest to it.

Still all for the in-game parser, but be prepared to live with the warts of it. There will be some.

I am so glad I am not the only person having trouble with checks from DPS. DPS Credit Union takes too long to mail me my checks after I order them.

So why do so many players not know an optimal rotation at level 60? Is it a failure of the job quests and in-game tutorials?

    Yes.

There is literally no class quest that requires the dps to perform optimal rotations to win. They are all exceedingly simple and if you are in the appropriate ilvl gear it feels like you have echo. I figure they thought it would turn away players if the class quests were too hard, but it has manifested as an even bigger problem in the endgame community.

All jobs when reaching 60 (and maybe even 50) should have a very challenging solo encounter, to ensure they can at least play the class correctly in a group environment.

The white mage lvl50 was great imo. If all were like that we have a start.
