There is such a thing as overkill, and blowing everything on the back phase is an example.
Yes, but even with telling people to hold their > 60s CDs for snakes, if we don't make the carapace they all panic and blow them anyways because "omg we MUST kill it in one go."

If you don't kill it in one go bismarck slams into the island 2 more times, as you have to wait for debuff to wear before you can jump back on. If you have 4 dps, 2 tanks in dps stance, and 2 healers in cleric stance. There shouldn't be any issue killing the chitin w/o needing 3 slams. The island can only take so much damage b4 you wipe.

I hate DPS checks, they are the laziest form of enemy mechanics. But they are also the best way to prevent content being cleared easily and swiftly. However, 500dps on a DD job is lazy, and borderline harassement of the party. If you noticed someone's dps was that bad. You could ask them to step it up without saying numbers like "I noticed your rotations aren't very good and you are losing alot of damage output. Your X dot isnt being applied often enough to make an impact, or you are refreshing it too often. I notice you dont use your secondary combo (drg/mnk) to enhance the party damage." and so on. Either way, sorry that you cant clear BisEx, better luck next time.

No no no! The whole team must wipe repeatedly through multiple instances without saying anything to said low performer, as their feelings might get hurt slightly.

You must repeat this process until RNG provides you with a team that can clear, because tons of failed runs don't make people rage quit, but pointing out that someone dps is half of what it could be, does.

Ive heard of this being possible. Im curious if you or anyone can link a vid of this working? im under the impression the island would get destroyed in phase 3 before you manage kill off bis. I feel like the first dps check is straight forward, no mechanics for dps to deal with. If dps cant put together a bursty rotation to kill carapace in one go theyll have an even harder time clearing snakes when they have to dodge nados/aoes. And then there's phase 3. But I could be brainwashed by the general pf mentality. Would like to see it happen if anyone has a link.

I've never had an instance where people couldn't kill the snakes in time after blowing cds to kill the carapace in one go.

If you have the dps for one, you more than likely have dps for the other.

Well I definitely don't want anyone's feelings getting hurt. I always refrain from saying anything to anyone that could even be construed as rude or offensive. - Said by Rubieus never.

No you don't. If you don't have the DPS to down it in one go, you jump off because the stacks get too high. We'd jump off right before the third one applies and then get right back on after.

Plus the island integrity isn't an issue if you're actually use the shield and kill the adds rather than let them sit with their thumbs up their butts.

I've successfully killed it with two jumps, both back to back and with a spacer in between. Time the dragonkillers right.

When you shoot the dragonkiller at him it stuns him for a few seconds. If you delay the second one until right as the stun's wearing off, you can stun him again, buying time to drop the debuff. You shoot him with the dragonkillers as normal and reel him in, but you don't get on his back to DPS.

This group did it in two goes, without a gap in the middle.

The key issue here isn't dps checks, it's the lack of some kind of an official gauge to tell dps if they are doing good or not. Wiping over and over doesn't really help because nobody know who's doing poorly, again officially. It doesn't have to be a full parser or even have other players show up. Just a number showing your personal dps.

I hate DPS checks too but when they first come out they are kinda requiring more skill from player at his class than some other mechanics. Problem with DPS checks is that after some time (when new gear is introduced) they dissappear. Only way to keep them up to date is syncing.

Nothing required more focus on my rotation from me and timing than a DPS check. Combined with mechanics it becomes a hard content (A savage = combination of DPS check and mechanics).
