tbh this is the fight im looking forward to most in my brothers story, that I am helping him with dungeons and story trails, it's a super fun fight and I would prefer them leave it as it is

Since its Story Mode and not even Hard Mode ...
"When she jumps away put a pillar between you and her"
"When she summons Feathers, kill them ASAP, Feathers destroy pillars."
"When she jumps to the middle and whines about retribution, big AoE damage, does more damage with smaller pillars, get to the middle after shes done screaming"
"Kick her ass"
"When she jumps, make sure you are behind her OR as far from her as possible"
(IIRC, the Mistral Shriek has a limited rage, so when she jumps outside of the clear space, distance is how to survive.)
BAM now 3 new people know the mechanics of the fight. And all it took was 30 seconds in chat.
Be the solution, not the silent veteran who bitches about new people not watching videos for leveling dungeons.
Garuda normal needs a nerf.
I find it funny that people think the game needs to be harder. Has it not occured to you that this game is mostly for casuals? If you are looking for hard content, you do alex Savage with a premade or Primal EX. Otherwise please don't put hard content into a game design for casuals that don't care about their dps or mechanics. And sticking it into story will NOT make people better, the only thing that will happen is that 2-3 better players will carry a bad 4th player.

Don't make casuals look dumber than they are. Even the most casual player of all the casuals can handle a few mechanics.
And nope, I haven't seen "only for casuals" warning anywhere on the ARR CD case.
Also, word casual usually means that the player cannot put much time into the game, not that it is a brainless player that cannot pass easy encounter.

				MSQ 1-50 is like a huge tutorial and Garuda Normal is like an exam to see if you're ready to do fights like the Hard or Extreme modes where you have to follow different mechanics. It feels hard at first but if people do things correctly and learned how their jobs work it's a piece of cake. Try to explain to newcomers the things they have to do and you're done.
Let there be some check points here and there.

If you can't follow simple directions on Garuda, you're not ready for *anything* with mechanics.


 
			
			
				Totally agree with the OP, I was in the US server, and could not clear this fight with duty finder groups, failed pretty much every single time and had to ask my FC members to help me. I was leveling an alts. The amount of "bad players" are astounding. I had pretty much every combination of "bad newbies babies" you can think of. A conjurer who has no idea, that you can become a WHM at level 30. Paladin who finally know that there are more quests past the level 30 job quest to unlock Paladin job. And don't even bother explaining mechanic, after wiping 6 times in a row, which is your general wipe numbers, most players would just vote abandon. It is that bad.... This is just not for Garuda, but pretty much the trend on level 60 content as well. Finally gave up and transfer to Japan server, had very little problem on my daily "beyond easy" content, much less frustration.
At this point Duke is just playing devils advocate, he goes against the grain to troll people. I would ignore him at this point.
