This.
Every plz nerf thread is building on SE not preparing players for higher difficulty. How they can prepare anyone for higher difficulty if any slightly more difficult content gets "plz nerf-ed".
Since its Story Mode and not even Hard Mode ...
"When she jumps away put a pillar between you and her"
"When she summons Feathers, kill them ASAP, Feathers destroy pillars."
"When she jumps to the middle and whines about retribution, big AoE damage, does more damage with smaller pillars, get to the middle after shes done screaming"
"Kick her ass"
"When she jumps, make sure you are behind her OR as far from her as possible"
(IIRC, the Mistral Shriek has a limited rage, so when she jumps outside of the clear space, distance is how to survive.)
BAM now 3 new people know the mechanics of the fight. And all it took was 30 seconds in chat.
Be the solution, not the silent veteran who bitches about new people not watching videos for leveling dungeons.
It's fine as it is as far as I'm concerned. If anything, more content could do with being made harder so that many prominent bosses end up feeling like the major threat that they're meant to be.
Thankfully Heavensward has given us quite a few reasonably challenging encounters that require coordination from a party.
Garuda normal needs a nerf.![]()
I find it funny that people think the game needs to be harder. Has it not occured to you that this game is mostly for casuals? If you are looking for hard content, you do alex Savage with a premade or Primal EX. Otherwise please don't put hard content into a game design for casuals that don't care about their dps or mechanics. And sticking it into story will NOT make people better, the only thing that will happen is that 2-3 better players will carry a bad 4th player.
MSQ 1-50 is like a huge tutorial and Garuda Normal is like an exam to see if you're ready to do fights like the Hard or Extreme modes where you have to follow different mechanics. It feels hard at first but if people do things correctly and learned how their jobs work it's a piece of cake. Try to explain to newcomers the things they have to do and you're done.
Let there be some check points here and there.
Can't easily do that later.I find it funny that people think the game needs to be harder. Has it not occured to you that this game is mostly for casuals? If you can't follow simple directions on Garuda, you're not ready for *anything* with mechanics.
New player's motivation isn't any different than ours 2 years ago. They also want to progress storyline. That means they are also willing to spend the time learning the fight. Garuda Normal Mode is in low level roulette for the purpose of assisting new players in their duties. Sure, it benefits veterans to get some XP, but the main premise is that veterans help new players. If you don't want to assist them, you can eat the 30min penalty, no problem there. And the fight isn't as hard as people are exaggerating it to be. I got it via low level roulette and the 3 players happen to be new. I explained the fight in 30 secs, and guess what? We cleared it. The point is simple; you don't want to help new players? Don't queue for low level.

So what do you suggest? Should every boss just be a huge HP bag with one aoe attack to not put too much pressure on casuals?I find it funny that people think the game needs to be harder. Don't make casuals look dumber than they are. Even the most casual player of all the casuals can handle a few mechanics.
And nope, I haven't seen "only for casuals" warning anywhere on the ARR CD case.
Also, word casual usually means that the player cannot put much time into the game, not that it is a brainless player that cannot pass easy encounter.
