Garuda Normal Needs a nerf

This fight is pretty mean compared to the "hard" and "extreme" versions nowadays, which is pretty odd.

A lot of the times when I end up running this, we have difficulty winning because the healer just can't stay alive for whatever reason. A common issue is the healer not being able to get behind Garuda to dodge Mistral Song during the final phase, so at that point it becomes up to the DPS and how good they are to be able to finish the fight off.

Ask for a FC lvl 60 member to solo it for you, problem solved

I think the only thing they should change is to make shriek not 1-shot non-tanks if they are in decent gear. Insta-kills are horrible, you generally don't get to practice anymore once you eat one, and it places a lot of stress on new healers in particular since if they die it's a wipe. Bringing you down to really low hp is enough of a "hey you should pay attention" without making an attempt a complete wipe and still puts you at risk to die to other attacks if you aren't taken care of immediately.

The people bringing up gear hit the nail. Not too long ago, my FC was trying to take a new member through Garuda story. The three of us were all above level 50 and level synced down, while the new FC mate was a level 44 white mage. Even with the three experienced members, we couldn't do it because heals couldn't keep up. We went back after she hit 45 and had AF gear and access to Holy, and cleared with no problem.

When I first read this I genuinely thought it was a joke. Garuda is the first semi challenging boss that players encounter on their main story line. It's not supposed to be easy, the whole point is for people to learn the fight and actually achieve something at the end of it. It doesn't take a lot of effort to look up the fight, or as you say if you're the only person who isn't new then have some patience and actually explain it.

This is SoF all over again and I hope SE doesn't actually nerf this.

Reminds me of when I did titan normal and the healer kept dying. I was the tank basically I had to cure the healer after an aoe all the time lol

Why not just Cure yourself once the healer died then?

Garuda Story mode does not need a nerf. If you can not complete gardua story mode as a team- you will not get very far in later fights. The mechanics to the fight are really simple. Its actually threads like this that causes devs to dumb things down.

Heres a thought- how bout communication between yourself and the group? Not trying to be rude or anything but I have been in enough groups where people don't want to put in any type of real effort. Personally if im in a group in a new fight and I'm here trying to explain a fight, set up roles etc etc. And there isnt any type of effort and communication, im out of there. Dont waste my time if your not even going to bother..Or we can come on here and ask SE to continue to make faceroll content. My 2 cents.

The last thing we need is more people who have no idea what to do in fights, more people who need a long explanation before every fight because they expect the usual faceroll 90% of the time and don't bother looking an explanation up beforehand (wanting to make people waste their time telling them what they could have read before going in), more people who can't even play good enough even with a long explanation, more people who feel like they can lone wolf it and win and ignore the party, and more dumbed down baby step content.

Every time someone calls for nerfs on an instance that isn't even difficult, a gaelikitten dies. Please think of the Gaelikittens if you won't think of fellow players who like a bit of a challenge.
