But kiting can be a good thing, once I soloed Chimera in Cutters Cry by kiting the boss around the arena from 50% till death without being hit once. And obviously when soloing something like levequests kiting helps too. If you prefer to stand rooted then the bard gives nothing that BLM can't do with 150% more efficiency.
Except you have the option to turn it off and still DPS while you move if you need to. We're not talking absolutes here. DPS increase if you choose to turn your "DPS stance" on, DPS lost for mobility if you deem the situation requires you to be mobile.
