    Dropping combat in 3.0 fates

Is it just me, or is it significantly harder to drop combat from fates in 3.0? Grinding fates on an low level class in Western Coethas, pvp queue pops, run for the full timer trying to drop combat from the fate so I can switch class, can't do it. I continue running halfway across the zone, STILL listed as in combat with the boss.

You've even got those freaking moogle fates in Churning Mists, where the defeated boss talks for about a minute after the fate ends, but you can't mount up and leave because you are still listed as in combat until he finally fades away.

If the game isn't going to let you jump in a queue without switching, and you can't switch while you're in combat, and you can't leave combat... I guess I should just do nothing and wait diligently for my 30 minute pvp queue in my intended class.

I participated in that fate in Churning Mists with the dialog at the end, and I distinctly remember being one of the few who -didn't- hop on their mount and fly off during that ending dialog. I don't think you can mount while in combat, can you?

You can't mount, change class, or change equipment in combat. And there is something weird with that moogle, where the timing of your last action might put you back in combat with him AFTER the fate has ended. If you just stop attacking when he is at low health, you will drop combat when he turns green, otherwise you have to sit there and wait for him to disappear.

That Moogle boss FATE is very iffy. Personally, I noticed that, between the FATE ending and the dialogue starting, there's a very small window of where you can mount up and fly away so I just spam the mount icon seconds before it ends.

What also bothers me in a lot of 3.0 FATEs is when the spawn point for the enemies is outside the lvl sync range.

Ah, well, I can certainly see that being a pain. I confess I don't often run fates while queue'd. I hate the idea of going through one of the longer ones, only for the queue to pop, leading me to missing out on the credit for the fate, unless they've changed that at some point.

Same here. I've only recently started doing the pvp queue, but the long queue time is causing me to find alternative activities while waiting.

It's just that the absurdity of running halfway across western coethas and STILL being in combat with a fate boss was so severe, I figured I should either post about it or file a bug report. I'm not sure if something has changed, or if this really was a bug.

    And screw that moogle.
