I love cover there are a lot of small uses for it and big depending on the fight.
Yeah hate holding on pld is really tough I have to battle DRGS quit a lot for hate on boss even in similar gear ;-;.

RoH Enmity modifier needs upped, it was left low from days of yore.
Clemency is pretty shit being on global cooldown AND having a 3 second cast in which time a part member has most likely been cured. Either reduce the cast time, and place it off GDC keeping the MP costs the same or make it instant with a slightly higher MP cost and built in cooldown much like Essential Dignity.
Oaths while slightly annoying having to pre-plan every switch in my head are okay the way they are. Possibly reduce the MP costs a bit, it can still break combo for all I can.
Make Shield Swipe not shit-tier, Daze or something - Reduce chance or critical hit for 8 seconds. Standard DR rules. Pacification is annoying much like the Flash bonus of Blind seeing how most boss mobs are completely immune to these status' anymore.
Let Divine Veil apply its affect to the full party including the PLD that cast it.
Our entire new set of abilities looks like it was crafted for OT which is great, I guess. But make some of these defensive abilities less of a pain in the ass to use while MT too. Even if I'm OT I would rather continue with my combos than stop, start casting Clemency on a hurt party member, only for a healer to top them off before my cast finishes. Essentially wasting everyone's time and dragging a fight out.
For the DPS crap, WAR can keep up its slashing debuff pretty much 100% with the correct skill speed and it should be included with all there parses. Those saying if you aren't a WAR to make friends with a WAR or a NIN over look the glaring problem. Saying to make sure your raid has a WAR (or NIN) for the slashing debuff is admitting exactly what most have been arguing on here. WAR is desired over other tanks if not for the DPS they can dish about but for the slashing debuff to bump up themselves, other tanks, and Ninjas. No one is looking at a PLD like man, we should take that guy he can cast like 2-3 heals in a row or can give a 2k shield every 3 minutes.
Being viable is different from being optimal, right now WAR is optimal. They can free up ninjas to just DPS, boost the DPS of all the other tanks and put out some really sick numbers in there own merit. I don't want Warrior's nerfed but my Paladin sure as hell feel's clunky and feels like it brings less to the table than a WAR in MT roles and in OT roles we probably break about even with WAR's debuffs/chakra and our Cover/Veil/Clemency alebit some of them are rather cumbersome. Personally I think I would still prefer the warrior in that OT slot just for the fact that it can debuff all damage dealt along side that slashing res down. Clemency would be nice if it was quick oGCD emergency heal that we can use to save someone quick but it isn't In most cases you are probably mid combo so you are waiting for global to finish, be sure you can stand still for 3 seconds without interruption, and then hope your healers have someone else they are healing so your or their heal doesn't go to waste as an over heal.
Maybe even just a change to the heal, assume the Clemency heals 6500 total but the target is only missing 3000HP. The remainder that would have been over healed is restored over the next 15 seconds. This honestly sounds a bit too powerful so perhaps only a % of the overheal as a HoT
