Yes. Despite the replies they all missed the only error in your post which is your calculations: (16 scrips per hour)
4x x = 8 items per hour. Which is 8x8 = 64 scrips per hour.
Even with low stats you should be able to get 2x per node.
You can also get normal cordials off the marketboard (they should be cheap) or directly from the GC vendor.

You're right about the calculation. An eorzean day is 1 hour and 10 minutes. Lets round to 1 hour for convenience sake. Twice an hour I get two collectables per class. (8 x 2 x 2) So around 64 scripts per hour. Around 8 hours per week to cap but that's with two hand classes!

That's still way too much imo.

Can't even get that. That's probably about 2mil gil on my server give or take. I just don't have the money. I've been trying to break into the market but nothing.

Yes I know still dont need Hi-Cordials. Cordials work just fine.

You don't even need cordials if you're only going for two nodes two hours apart if you time it right

So doing the blue script grind for the books would double my rate (a node at 5, 7, 9 and 11). Only ~30k blue scripts. yay.

You should consider your not spending the WHOLE hour doing the gathering. It's grindy but it's not as overblown as your estimate.

My rotation is pretty basic. I use (Discerning Eye then Methodical Appraisal) x3 for red script items. That's usually enough to get 470 for two gather attempts. Sometimes I get less then 470. Anyone know why? I assumed it was just me messing up my rotation (forgetting to use DE or using MA one too many times).

Can the "one gathering attempt" fail from MA? I have about 90% for normal gathering attempts.

Sure but I still need step aside that time even if I'm just waiting around for a node to spawn. I'm not about to interrupt family time or work to gather a few nodes every half hour.

I'm spending most if not all of my time with the family tomorrow. Monday night work requires my attention. If I don't cap today I won't probably cap for the week. I've been doing the grind for 12 hours now and I'm not even at 400 red scripts. This is pretty ridiculous.

EDIT: And I'm only reaching the cap because I have two hand classes.

Ya I don't know I wouldn't consider 2 hours a day that grindy for MMO. All I can say is you dont actually have to cap each week. I usually only cap gather scrips as I dont have time for crafter ones. Once I'm done with gather scips ill work on crafter ones. I take comfort in knowing I wont run out of stuff to do any time soon.
