Absolutely yes. As someone who was regrettably a bit too hasty in disregarding the quest lore at times, I would love a chance to have the lore at my fingertips, going as far back on the timeline as possible! Or perhaps instead of a library, there could be a series of collectable chronicles or tomes that could be displayed in the housing? A great suggestion nonetheless Cloudio, thank you! Hope this gets enough support for the SE staff to see it!
A prime example of a recurring FF staple that really should be in the game! An mmo library can also be continually updated with more books, have quests revolving around it, and be a hub for many other content (newspapers, gaming tournaments, etc)
FF wiki Library
Pasted the images here from the wiki (I added in FF3 and FF6), and I'm pretty sure there are libraries from more games not listed here:
FFIII - Grand Library in Saronia
FFIV - Eidolon Library
FFV - Library of the Ancients
FFVI - Figaro Castle Library
FFVII - Shinra Mansion Library
FFVIII - Balamb Garden Library
FFIX - Alexandria Castle Library
FFIX - Daguerreo Library
FFTactics A2 - School Library
FF Crystal Chronicles

FFXII didn't really have a library per se (not that I remember...?) but it did have a cool feature on the bestiary that unlocked tidbits of chronicle and lore as it was completed!
Daguerreo Library...Ah the memories probably my favorite town design.
I love this idea! I've always been a lavish whore for lore! Wait...can we say whore? I mean we have them in the miner's guild for goodness sake...Anyway! I'd spend all my time there probably I love books and lore and flavor text and libraries. Grand exquisite architecture! Books to the ceiling and beyond! Sultry miqo'te librarians...okay maybe not but BOOKS! Books everywhere! Books enough to make an arcanist cower in fear! ...Was I the only one who was sad we couldn't read the stack of books in the Thaumaturge Guild quests?
+1 for sure. There weren't enough bookcases in any of my Skyrim houses.
Something that comes from FFV?! Yes, please.
You see... this is one of those things that wouldn't work out because of space requirements, server lag, data implementation, localiza....... WHAT AM I SAYING SCREW ALL THAT I would spend every waking hour in this place drooling over all the delicious and lore brushing up on my Eorzean, reading all the countless hours upon hours of content just to find hints and clues about how the world is, was and will be! Housing? Who needs housing when you're surrounded by thousands of books?! I'd be in that place so long you'd think I was a wandering NPC. I would make alts just to log out of my main and log into the library. It would be my sanctuary....

sorry... blacked out there for a second.. where was I?
It would be neat if a giant library was implemented. Could have the best of both worlds. Have the library itself have a ton of places to click to read interesting bits of lore, and then have an underground instanced dungeon similar to the Library of the Ancients dungeon in FF5. Would be a great nostalgia trip and a lot of fun.
Too bad this wasn't thought up earlier. It would be a great place to start the ACN quest.
