Things I'm starting to hate on AST

People telling me, "Oh man, you need some better gear so you can up those heals" or "Use your cooldowns to increase your healing or something!"

I'm looking, cap't! But I'm literally giving it all I got!

Whats worst is when people say, "I'm enjoying my ast, nothing wrong with it in my opinion!" And then you look at their info, and their astrologian is like level 52 or something.

i actually never had people bashing me personally, even when i was playing expert dungeons with minimal ilvl.
i did however have a few tanks acknowledge that AST has some issues with healing and acting more careful/pulling less.

i see once in a while on PF things like "no AST" and stuff, but im trying to ignore it and slowly enjoy getting my esoteric equipment and having hope that square is going to fix all this soon xD *sigh*

i agree with you on that, people are slightly ignorant if they say that AST is completely fine and viable healer that is performing well, because that's quite far from reality.

People are also slightly ignorant if they think it is a terribad job and not worth taking to end game content. What do I know though, I'm probably just a level 52 AST or something.

I'm not sure anyone is saying they're so bad they should be excluded, least of all me, because if so that would mean I'd be benched. That being said, if you're the person(s) in charge of a bleeding edge progression team, you're most likely going to desire the team that offers the most predictable and reliable results. In this case, that combination of healers is still WHM/SCH, but these circumstances are not unique to healers.

Right now the same arguments are in effect for tanks, and Paladins appear to be the ones getting the short end of the stick in that argument. This was bound to happen as soon as the number of available Tank and Healer jobs became 3 each. Someone will always be sitting out, and "A-Teams" are going to be composed of what the community is largely considering their best available options. They want to maximize their chances of success while minimizing their aches and pains, and I don't begrudge them that. It's far from ideal, but this is what happens.

I'm struggling with getting Reg Alexander turn 4 done and it's killing me. There have been times when my gear was far superior to a Whm's or Sch's, me being 181, them being like 175, and it seems like that yeah, they can definitely out heal me in every sense of the word.

At a time I'm starting to worry if it's just me, that I'm the bad healer. That is until you experience a ast/ast party on dungeon finder, and have to cry when your placed on Noct stance.

Come on SE! Find some neat and interesting way to let our AoE barrier combine with the single target barrier, doing something unique or something!

Or at the very least don't punish us for being in a party with another AST.

A pro AST isn't going to make much needed CDs and traits suddenly appear.

I've cleared A4 numerous times on my AST, so I know it can be done, but it's still unnecessarily difficult. It doesn't really get much better when you "master" it because it simply lacks many tools the other healers get.

No amount of "getting better" will magically increase your healing or give you a very much required actual healing cooldown.

I do not understand your issue? I double astro heal A1-A4 without issue all the time. Also have enough mana to keep my 3 dots up along with the utility of our cards which from my own experiences is another 150-170 dps unless you get a unlucky spreak and pull nothing but bole. I easily contribute 200-300 dps from my dots and a malefic cast every now and then along with arrow/balance/spear on my brother who plays a machinist he normally clocks another 150-160 dps through an entire run which is on par with scholar personal dps.
