I've posted my share of rage comments towards your updates but to be honest this game has never been better [Yoshi] your a boss as well as all the other [Devs] working very hard at launching these updates an making them live so that we may enjoy this Final Fantasy 14 an its rich game play an graphics.

I've sent you guys alot of rage support tickets only against how much I hated the updates but it's only cause I wasn't used to them an didn't see the vision you brought to use now an it's a great vision i have FAITH in you [Yoshi] an without playing this next installment no matter what ill be sure that whatever that may seem wrong may be the right choice you have made I just need to envision it an even though you may never read this post.

That is the issue when impatient players are not allowed to see the bigger picture it ends in rants and emo rages, things are looking positive with the new changes. If/when Yoshi-P and Co pull this off and the game does indeed end up a success they should erect a statue of Yoshi on a Chocobo somewhere in Ishguard (when it opens)

FFXI to FFXIV, it's totally different. Yes, there's 3 starting cities, but the similarites end there. Before you had a job, and a sub-job. I loved that system, and hope they work towards it in ffxiv. You had white mage, which a conjuror is sort of like, but not. They had the white magic spells, such as cures, but also banish. They did not have the elemental spells, as they are dark magic. The black mage had black magic spells, elemental spells, enfeebling, and so on. A warrior could not simply borrow another job's abilities/spells without having that other job as the subjob, and then you were limited to half your level. So a 50 warrior with a 30 monk subjob would only have monk abilities up to 25. If the monk was below 25, they'd only have the abilities of what level they were.

good to know that, but as you said, the state atm is very close to being call FFXI-2.Although it is still to early to call it FFXI -2 as we dont know about 1.21 and patch above, at least not until the game goes live

XI - Tons of content even at release.
XI - Very defined jobs, playerbase perceptions hurts some job placement though because as with all MMOs, if it doesn't auto kill mobs it's not worth having around.
XI - Tons of consistent story
XI - Very, Very fluid interface even though it's designed as a classic Final Fantasy style, aka menu driven if you don't make macros.
XI - Very good balance between crafted and dropped gear, though as of late a lot of gear is NM based.

And so on

XIV - Still need a lot of work.

Even though FFXI is about 10 years old, they took a very bad design choice to throw out everything XI did instead of building off of it. The main choice was a serverside interface, which hinders absolutely everything in this game and was the cause of many, many problems.

Ok... And if we discovered another planet in a solar system, and if you believe in deities, would you be angry that the new people look the same but they call themselves different names? lol Just saying. And tbh, if this had of BEEN more XI related, release may not have sucked as much because they would have built OFF OF rather than retooling everything and hosing it up. Again, my pov. They should never have 'fixed' what wasn't broken.

If anything, I'm more miffed at the whole copy/paste of XIV to XI. The city areas look similar, the ideology of each city is similar to XI and the areas themselves are very XI like. For a game to have been in development for several years to have THOSE aspects the same is weak.

XIV was only in development for 2 years, 3 max. It was very obvious in 2007 when they shifted focus from XI to XIV.

For me i feel its job specific content and leveling up i only play as an archer an i don't like that it's like if u don't rank up every job your not gonna be good =( an then on the other hand its more boring grinding the same leve quests everyday then to actually go out an grind on the same mobs because normal mobs can actually rape u an quest mobs partially kill u it's not fun to level up your job to 50 if it wasn't hard final fantasy series has always been about strategy an its difficulty not easy an lets skip the whole game to the end
