just had a thought, wouldn't most if not 99.9% of people in the new player forum already have the game?

Well, all it means is they have an (active) service account. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this means trial players who have not purchased the game can post. It also means those that have purchased it, but have not payed any subscription time (still on the included 30 days) can post.
Also, even with none of the above, anyone can read the forums (and so potentially grab RAF codes off them).
Not all of them. Many of the posts involve the same player (and lots of players are doing this) adding the exact same post with the same codes to each of several different threads within seconds of each other. That's spam and explicitly against the forum rules, but the moderators aren't stopping it.
Another really rude and even worse thing I've seen popping up is players who will reply to threads on totally different topics to give people their recruitment codes. Especially In the "New Player Help" forum, players should be allowed to admit that they're new and ask new player questions without just getting spammed for it.
And as I said in the OP, it's a perfectly valid topic if it's kept to one topic.
And if your codes aren't used, then go ahead and post them again in a couple days, but not in a few seconds or minutes.
You have to already have the game before you can use a recruitment code. Purchase of the game comes with 30 days of access before you need to add additional subscription time. The code only needs to be used before that additional subscription time is bought, not before the game is bought.
Because stuff like "Code" going on in new player help section , most ppl's not even post anything helpful at all . I understand that players want ""reward"" from recruit , but pls devs add some special section for recruit and start action agains "New Player Help" section spam .
As for me , it was bad idea to add in game item rewards for referal at all.
Agreed, this is past a joke. If people can't keep everything in one thread, a separate space for codes on the board might be the way to go; provided the moderators then took action against people spamming their codes elsewhere.
Genuine questions are getting buried under this stuff.
Almost full page of code threads, so annoying...
Yep, something really should be done.
Honestly, SE should just make it against the forum rules to post codes here at all. Seriously, how about keeping to the actual intent of the RAF promotion and recruiting your real friends or family if you want someone to play the game with instead of trying to recruit random people so you can get shiny prizes. :-\
While you do make a valid point, Velisra, I must point out that not everyone knows someone else who would be into a game of this type, and the people that DO know someone that would like it are hit by the problem of the people they know already playing it.
However, the main fault with the current code spam situation rests purely on SE. It was their bright idea to lock Twintania behind gold chocobo feathers, which are only obtainable through recruiting people, and/or one of the recruited people being subscribed for 150/210/270 days. If not for that, we wouldn't have this issue.

Well, I also do not know anyone that plays MMOs, but I do not go around making a million new code threads. Instead I post it in the big ones that are already there.
I'm in a similar situation, as the people i know that play MMOs already play FFXIV. But unlike the code spammers, there are still some of us that aren't so obsessed with getting Twintania that we'll flood the new player help section.
