    Gear for newer crafters

Apologies if this has been addressed somewhere (I looked, but I've never been good with search engines of any kind).

All the leveling and gear guides I've found assume you're heading upward from 50 with fully melded endgame gear. Is there anywhere a guide with gear suggestions for people who didn't have BiS crafting gear when Heavensward released?

Because I've only been playing since March, and I'd gotten one craft to 50 -- WVR. I had only just gotten myself into the green weaver set (HQ). I'm looking at the previous BiS gear and thinking it's not worth the time sink if it's obsolete by lvl 50-whatever ( 52? 53? ).

I went ahead and bought a full left-side set of lvl 51 crafter gear, since it was better than what I had (and cheaper than the artisan set), and I figure 8 crafts will go through it. Do I meld it? with what? What kind of gear progression are we looking at for people who don't possess endgame gear?

Has anyone put up a guide anywhere for that?

I would advise against melding your level 51 set. Well, if you need to in order to meet some craft/control requirement, or you decide you need some more CP, go for it, but don't go crazy melding what is just a transitory set.

I would suggest, however, getting the other crafting classes to 51 before taking the weaver much higher. The under-level penalty in HW is severe, much worse than it was in ARR. And the recipes are more inter-dependent than they were in ARR.

At level 55 you can get another general crafting set, and then yet another general one in the upper 50's (for some jewelry) and 60. THAT is the set you are going to want to meld, to the max if you can afford it, though not the main or off hand tools.

For the 55 and 60 sets, craft them yourself if possible, and make them HQ. The 51 set on your WVR should be more than enough to make any WVR-made gear for your other classes as you level them up. I'd suggest not getting the class-specific green set at 50, and just power on through to 51 and the set you currently have.
