Threads like these make me sad... Realizing just how much the mmo community has changed or simply how many people focus so much on the shinies instead of finding a virtual world they enjoy and what it has to offer. Simply hanging out with some friends or meeting new ones.

Instead, the majority seem to have fallen to thinking that if they miss or don't cap for the week that they'll somehow fall behind our have to work harder. When regardless of how much any of us accomplish in any game it will never pay off since once a game shuts down, all those "accomplishments" disappear with it...

Oh well, back to the grind for you guys I guess. Hope you get some enjoyment out of your virtual job

I really think SE wants to shoot for more repeat logins on a daily basis as opposed to long play sessions.

Like: One 30 min login each day of the week is better than three 4 hour play sessions.

    But that's just a theory...

Seal Rock is a new experience each time you do it. Plus 20 tomestones for a match that lasts 13-20 minutes is pretty quick. Do 2 matches a day + Frontlines roulette each day, and you will be close enough to cap that after everything else you do, you will be capped.

Community is the best part, we've been doing unsynced primals and coil in my FC when we're able, and it's probably the most fun I've had since the expansion. However, when you're not playing with friends, and you're not gearing, and you still want to play with your level 60 character, there's not really much to do in this virtual world except just hang out. If it comes to that, I can hop on our Mumble server, talk to people and play a different game.

I don't care about capped or uncapped currency, or completing dailies or weeklies, I care about playing content with other people. The only content that I can play at level 60, though, is content designed to get people to log in every day to get their tomestone fix. I simply want more diverse level capped content since the only goal for a level 60 character right now is "get the shinies," whether that be tomestones, primals or raids.

I see you're new here, so I hope I don't sound too dismissive, but some of us have been on the gear treadmill for a while. It's an incentivized way to keep people logging in, I'm sure everyone gets that. There's also people that go to extremes and grind so hard that they cap out, get bored, and quit the game. I'm not that type, and I don't think all the posters here are that type. We're simply feeling how formulaic the gear treadmill has become, and what should be incentive to log in feels tiresome, boring, or does indeed feel like a "job." Since there's no other goal for max level characters, like a long term glamour grind, or new beast tribe or other optional, repeateable side quests, there still needs to be a reliable way to get people to log on regularly, or there won't be any players online to form a community with, and a repetetive grind for alternate currency to get gear that not every player even wants or needs is not reliable.

There really is SO MUCH to do in this game, more than any other MMO I've played, and yet people still can't find things to do.

There may be much to do in this game, but do you really want to force yourself unto things that you just don't find fun? I have all my crafting classes that aren't 60, but I'm not going to level them because I find crafting ungodly boring.

The point is that you shouldn't complain that there's nothing to do when there is so much to do but you just don't want to do it. Plus, this is how EVERY MMO is at endgame. Which is why in every MMO people do old content just for funsies, farm mounts or minions, do PvP or craft/gather or level new characters. If you're getting burned out or bored so easily then it's not the game that's causing it but the genre.

I'm honestly really enjoying Astrologian right now. Think of when a kid gets a new toy and it's the coolest thing in the world, and nothing else is cooler. I've been jamming on it since 3.0, it's my new main and everything. But there's nothing for me to play on it. I've got the minions that I want, and I've been riding the choco since 2.0. I could grind for them, but I wouldn't use them, and it would be just as unfulfilling as grinding gear. Unsynced dungeons are neat, but if I'm just fiddling around doing things to pass the time I'd rather log off and play another game, so I do. My weaver has been at 48 for months now, it's a struggle to be on it for more than a few crafts at a time. I got burnt out once in the 2.0 era, so I took a couple weeks off. I'm cool with that, it happens. What bothers me is that I don't have enjoyable or meaningful content for the class I'm most interested in immediately following an expansion. I know that class took a lot of effort to make, I'm not trying to be greedy here, I just can't help but feel disappointed. Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm more or less resigned to my burnout until 3.1. I plan on taking things slow and laying low for the most part, our FC is usually pretty fun on the weekends. I just came to voice my thoughts on the matter.
