Stoneskin question

Greetings all,

What are your feelings on stoneskin as a non-whm? As a whm in 2.0, I always did my best to refresh stoneskin on all players in between fights. Now that I've left whm behind for ast, I find myself still doing the same thing, but with obviously much less result, and lately I've been starting to wonder if there's any point.

Recently I've been paying more attention when I'm on my bard in alex raids and such, and I've noticed that not many other non-whms are using stoneskin at all.

I was wondering what's the general consensus on this issue? Am I wasting my time and mp?

I'll probably still ss everyone just because it's there either way lol.

It's only used mid-fight to help buffer against tank busters, to help cover a weakened party member, or to mitigate attacks when healing output is reduced by a mechanic that can't be cleansed. This hasn't really changed.

There is no difference in Stoneskin potency anymore between WHM and non-WHMs (the Graniteskin trait was removed and replaced with the barely noticeable "Quick Stoneskin"), so not sure why you brought that up as a point.

It remains what it always was, a pre-fight or between-fight buff for the tank, just like SCH's Adlo (except that Adlo also functions as their "Cure 2")

IMO since 3.0 completely nerf WHM's SS, it reminds many non-whm their SS was not the 18% version ^^; So less ppl keep casting it.
I mean many non-whm ie. the pld, didn't know their ss was 10% while a whm was 18% previoulsy

I used to swiftcast ss2 before a boss fight or ss on the tank between pulls and I still do this. Casting it on every member is just annoying and never was useful.

In dungeons i really dont have no time for putting stoneskin even on a tank, everyone is always in a hurry, but then again, i find it really boring reapplying it so i dont even bother.
and before some serious fights its not bad using is, but the effect is very minimal, its 10% reduction and only in the beginning.

Using it in the middle of a fight is rather worthless. Before it used to be useful since WHM had 18% stoneskin, using it on tanks was considerated reasonably good, now i feel its quite pointless.

Don't do this, SS costs a lot of mana for something that has to be continuously reapplied. Just use it on the party before a pull and use it to cover ressed party members or right before tank busters.
