The intent is, that due to their ability to be an MP and TP battery, their dps will always be lower than just a "pure" dps class like a dragoon. BRD and MCH will always have the lowest dps under the FFXIV structure, due to their raid utilities. If you are satisfied with big numbers, another dps class may suit you more.
