SE hates Goldsmiths?

First off, being a Goldsmith is pretty expensive. That's to be expected.

But we create items that people only need in extremely limited amounts. No one wants MOST of what we can make. They want rings. That's all.

We at LEAST used to have the niche of being needed when those items got damaged. But after patch 1.19, not any longer! (and who needs a goldsmith to take your accessories to 100% when 99% is really just as good?)

Also I see that accessories will not be able to get materia attachments. Thus furthering the uselessness of being a Goldsmith. Once everyone has all the rings they want, we are left to become 'starving artists' as it were, with no real purpose left.
Sure there are SOME weapons that a Goldsmith may attach materia to, but really, its not enough to make up for all of our losses.

ALC and CUL both make items that require replenishing, thus maintaining a steady purpose. People will always need more shards (and potions whenever they make them actually useful), and other mats that ALC creates, and when people can actually tell what food does, people will always need more food. But once you have rings, you have them and you never need more.

I have all 8 at 50, nothing compares to how bad cul is. On my server the food that people use sells at a loss on the wards. thats right you make one and sell it you lose money.

yeah, i have to agree cul is for sure the lowest on the totem pole.

i can see where the op if coming from, but there will never be enough support for him on these forums. someone makes an honest observation and, of course, gets flamed. why should that be a suprise?

First off: No its not. I spent for 40 Ranks at max 100.000 Gil due Botches, but thats about it. Everything else and that includes all other Crafts is just farming Mats, turning them into Ingredients, Final Product -> NPC/Sell. If people simply dont understand that you can Rank up a Craft to 50, without spending much Gil, they didnt understand it. ( Was the same in FFXI btw ).

Rings are a Skillup Item. If you try to sell these via Bazaar you will sit on them for a long Time and you will slow down your crafting progress. Just vendor them, but only do if you farmed the Mats yourself.. even if its just a couple thousand Gil per Ring, in the end its pure profit over the Ranks you are making them.

Goldsmith can craft a lot of different things btw. not only Rings. So you need to get away from that way of thinking.

Tell me the Craft which will Upgrade Weapons then i.e. Banneret Lance, Jade Hora? Who will craft the Arrowheads? Who will craft the Gems, which are needed in Weapons? Who will craft the Ingredients for the NM Weapons as in Aeolian Scimitar? etc etc Goldsmith is needed for a lot, you never realized that?

Wow you just totally missed the point entirely. No, NO crafts are expensive if you only do leves, good for you for figuring that out. And no one is buying vendor trash rings, I'm talking STAT rings. People want sunstone, etc rings and they don't want to buy anything else. Everything else goldsmith makes is vendor trash. Thanks for proving my point.
Being able to craft vendor trash does not make the job more useful.
And yeah. I already gave mention to the half dozen weapons that goldsmith will be needed for. But whoohoo, goldsmith gets 6 things to upgrade while all other crafts can upgrade practically everything they make.

Im not missing the point, you simply didnt understand what i said. I never said i only do leves.. actually there are times when i didnt touch them for weeks. And that peoply only want to buy Stat rings i just not true, so maybe lower the Price for the Rings you want to sell? So noone want the Ingredients for the NM' Weapons? Unless LS' have crafters which can make those themself, they have to buy it. Same with Arrowheads for CRP Rankups.. Those Stuff is selling fast in Wards.
