Or you could just use one of the many tools that can do this shit for you.
http://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 For those who are concerned, this stops the spying. I'll consider upgrading when a workaround is released for the force-fed updates.

sir, its no point to explain things over and over again. Use this tool you posted. Download wireshark. Sniff traffic from and to your W10 machine. Be suprised.
For those that "saw a performance increase"... how long was your last OS on your system? A fresh install of the same OS can see considerable performance increases.
People tend to get excited by new OSes not created by Microsoft because they tend to be better than the one they already using. Unlike Microsoft products which have about a 50/50 chance of being a complete piece of junk.
1) Most didn't do a clean install, just an upgrade. For those that "saw a performance increase"... how long was your last OS on your system? A fresh install of the same OS can see considerable performance increases.

2) On my second machine the OS was rather fresh, under 6 months, and I was not noticing any sort of performance issues yet.
3) The last piece of junk MS put out was Vista, so the chance that their new OS is going to be better than the last one is rather high lately, so yeah.
have to disable my avast, but other than that, just upgraded clicking the icon.. had to update my drivers, and do some updates but so far seems to work fine..
Drive it like u stole it
Screw it, everyone knows that all even number windows suck
(I'm fine with my Windows 7)
Using Win10 since the day it was released.
No issues, blazing fast shutdown/start ups, same as Win8.1
Til now, i've installed quite a lot of programs, the programs that auto start are Steam, qb torrent, garmin ant agent, adobe stuff, chrome stuff etc. etc.
Start up is still blazingly fast, less than 6 seconds. PC ready to go once its in windows, no additional loading.
used an AMD 6950 before upgrading to R9 290, both no issues, i didnt even bother uninstalling drivers since its AMD anyway, no crashes/blue screens or anything.
serving me well.
Facebook isn't reading my emails and doesn't have a licensing agreement that says they can use anything in them for any purpose they want.
I'm a political activist with conservative leaning views. Suppose that someday, the establishment decides that they want to start arresting anyone protesting say, gun control? Microsoft essentially has the liberty to start scanning my fking email for that shit and sending data to the government.
How in the bloody hell can you defend that kind of bullshit?
Their EULA basically states that it doesn't matter what you set windows to do, they can still do it anyways.Actually most stuff I do is in the financial sector, so VERY high levels of security.
And no, I do not use my own phone or computer for work-related stuff, and if I would I would of course not have it synced, duh... I use that in my personal computers. And it works perfectly fine.
BTW: Did you know you can prevent Win 10 from sending ANY data?
All the client settings in the world won't change the fact that you signed away on your right to privacy by installing it.
