Because you bought alien ware they were the best until dell bought them out now it's an expensive acer just disposable posI'm on a poorly ventilated Alienware X51 R2.
The upgrade went fine for me. A part from it resetting my audio settings, and Alien Audio not working because DELL not updating their crap, nothing going straight to the Realtek Audio driver config didn't fix - I turned off all the "audio effects"; never liked that rubbish.
Other than having to do long defrags due to the upgrade rearranging a ton of files - I'm a neat freak like that. It has been smooth sailing.
FFXIV (DX11) runs fine. No problems here. Frame rates are a tiny bit better although that might just be the placebo effect.
From my point of view, it's pretty much Win 8.2 - a more polished Win 8.1. Don't really see any huge performance gains.
