Tabbing out?

Only have one monitor, but frequently I need access to the rest of my computer. Using OS X. I see I can go into System Config and reset it to windowed, but that takes quite a while and involves several steps to go and come back. My "other" MMO has single keystroke into and out of this mode... is there some way I can have some keystroke that will switch into and out of windowed mode?

If i have a game in fullscreen i usually just use alt+tab to minimize it if I need to check anything outside of the game

Does the game "configuration" not allow you to set it windowed mode?
(It does on Windows) I then assume you have a way of switching through your windows.

To expand on this a little... there is a "borderless windowed" or "fullscreen windowed" mode that makes alt tabbing out easy. I'm not sure if OSX would support this but I would look through the options and check if it's there.

Ah, interesting. FWIW, in OS X, it's "command-tab" to switch between active applications. With the "other" MMO, because it takes the whole screen over, they had to build some support. BUT for the hell of it, I gave it a shot and BINGO, it immediately dumped me out to the rest of my system where I can do what I need, then command-tab back to FFXIV (without having to mess with it's fill screen settings). And yes, going into various windowed screen modes are supported in FFXIV-Mac
