gearing up guide for raids?

Morning everyone,

So I haven't been lvl 60 for long and it's my first time getting to end game on ffxiv. I want to be sure and take the best path for gearing up please.

So far I've been doing the daily expert roulette and single queuing up for two dungeons that give 80 laws and the like 20 or so of the others.

Please give me any advice on gearing please.

Get laws,
Do hunts for 180 laws.(upgrade weapon first)
>=170 you can start doing alex normal.
Ex ravana is 190 weapon.
If you get enough eso, replace anything other than alex savage(maybe) with eso, but weapon first.
~190= start doing Alex savage?

Unfortunately i don't know of any crafted replacements.

Blindly upgrading is a great way to waste tomes. I suggest using sites like Ariyala's (just google ariyala) to plan out a gear set. From what I understand, you need to maintain an accuracy around 600 if you attack mobs for whatever reason. Build on your more important secondary stats once you have accuracy squared away. iL should never be the focus, though. Yes, pick the best gear that helps your stats, but don't pick it just for iL. That being raised should be a 'happy side effect'. Hopefully the posts that follow me will help identify the more important secondary stats for each class as all I can give you is Bard, Dragoon and White Mage. For Bard it's Critical Hit and Determination. Dragoon is also Critical Hit with Skill Speed instead of Determination. White Mage needs Piety with Spell Speed or Determination, up to you on which. Lets keep this constructive, people.

Roulette and grind hunts for tomes. Hopefully they get a bit more creative in future patches but I doubt it.

I don't remember not being constructive. Stats dont mean much if you are not able to do the content to begin with because of df.

With savage stats become a bit more important, but the method and lack of gear sets to select from remains the same.

Not saying you weren't being, just that the posts following mine had a high chance of guffs pitching the 'replace everything with max iL' line, which isn't very constructive at all. Gear should be weighed by it's value as a whole, not it's individual worth. Go for stronger gear, this is without question, but stronger in a way that helps the most. This is why I use Ariyala's, so I can see what is stronger in a meaningful way. As an example this is the set I'm aiming for. http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/R27X
