at first I was adamant about not using 3 red scrips for the HQ, but now I just don't care. The amount of time needed to spent gathering to make use of all my crafting tokens is fairly absurd. Couple that with the fact that, even spending ALL of my gathering tokens of favors, I won't actually get enough mats to use all my crafting tokens.

Maybe I just got lucky but I haven't found it too bad. I got all the folklore books before the patch hit so could gather the scrips in a few hours, then went round doing the favours. Maybe I got lucky but in each 5-batch I usually ended up with between 10-20 of the mats (blue ooid I got lucky and got 25, but void nuts I think I only got 7). handed them in and got the crafting mats, dryad sap and whatever else they're called, then quickly gathered whatever else I needed like a single hq red alumen, a single hq wattle bark, astral moraine and the others (knew I'd only be crafting one of the mats, so just getting one was enough, and I got an hq to try and make the final craft starting quality as high as poss). I only ended up crafting one thing, the new crafter toolbelt, and the other mats (and gathered items I didn't get 10 of) I'm putting towards this week

Yeah its not exactly 1:1. More like 1:0.9, so its probably a good idea to go the HQ route on a few items.

I don't understand what happened for the crafting system to end up in a state this badly broken. Pre heavensword I could have a line for FC members requesting things for me to make, constantly crafting (no need for me to gather). Now I have very few people who need anything made, and if I want to make anything for myself I have to spend 15 hours gathering... what the... @#$%#%#$%3

Honestly what's missing are more perks to specializing. Right now all specialization does is add new abilities to make crafting HQ easier however this does pretty much mean if you craft furniture it doesn't really matter if you specialize or not, it's more designed for HQ tools/offhands/DOH/DOL gear or for food/potions for savage mode raids.

The ball they dropped are two simple fixes.

-Specialized Gear should mean more than just oh it's your class gear with minimal boost to abilities.
--Offer means to craft more with less or to get more per synth

Pretty much they could do something like, specialization gives you access to being able to craft more of x item, to reduce the needed mats per synth, ye know actual perks that help you as a whole rather than only serve as a way to HQ "easier"

With DOL pretty much similar ideals except just attached to gear.

--More GP on class specific gear, A LOT more like let's say 100 per piece for 500+ GP to allow us to you know, actually have some fun with the abilities at hand rather than being tied to 600-650 GP, let us play with 1.1k GP

Hopefully they do comment more on expanding the system in 3.1 but it is true as it stands now it's a bit meh but honestly who wouldn't want one of the following scenarios.

    You specialize as a Carpenter?
--Cost per log synth from lv 50+ recipes -1
Quantity per synth from lumber=HQ rate 1-2+ more lumber per synth based on how high you HQ (This ability would toggled like collectible except it would turn your "HQ" into a % to determine if you gain more than 1 lumber with that synth.

Simply doing that would do the following.

You don't specialize? 5 Birch logs per lumber.

You do specialize? 4 Birch logs per lumber + the ability to remove ability to HQ to synth an extra 1-2 lumber per synth.

Now you have a more dynamic difference between specialist.

Non specialist uses 200 logs they make 40 lumber.

Specialist uses 200 logs they make 50 lumber

Specialist uses their special toggle skill that 50 can change to 50-150 lumber from 200 logs.

Just wish SE would consider it, if anything mean a specialist using that toggle ability could have it where the cost of the synth doubles so you play the risk of spending double the shards to not get the quantity you hoped for.

The Devs know exactly what they are doing...they discuss, they plan, they implement, they test, they discuss again. Complicated and involved, sure but the main thing that matters to them is the bottom line. More people spending more time doing things. That's the only thing they will respond to in a drastic way. Sure they may throw some small changes in once in awhile to appease us but unless there is some mass boycott or mass exodus by the crafting/gathering community I don't see anything changing drastically anytime soon. I would so love to be proven wrong though because it sucks right now.

And yet somehow the scrip system still made it into the game.

To be honest if anyone remembers the 1.x patch that dumbed down crafting...it's been like this since the new lead took over..each patch to crafting just seems to make things worse.

    I deserve this changes!
There were many ppl requested harder crafting/gathering,
each of them just said not want to see everyone can craft/gather everything (ofcoz except himself)...
    and some requested what real end game crafting/gathering content, so it should be as hard as A4S ^^;
