So we don't have level progressions and armour progressions in the present day of gaming?

Honestly speaking, I'd like to see the level 1 that can afford a glamour lol.

No one talking about real gear here, they are talking about fun and harmless glamour, or are you being deliberately obtuse? Let your level and your real gear be something you can flex your epeen over if you must, but fun stuff like glamour should be for all.

So you'd still have to progress through levels to look the way you want. Unless you use a vanity system that completely throws level and acquisition of gear out the window.

We certainly don't usually have people telling us that we have to wait to level cap in order to make use of a costume system. In WildStar, my level-capped esper managed to farm up the rated PvP set. I unlocked the appearance in the holo-wardrobe, and if I so want, I can use any of those pieces' appearances on any of my alts.
I've played a few MMOs where vanity was level locked. Hell, sometimes vanity was content locked behind an expansion or DLC. There are even MMOs made today that don't even have a vanity system. Not saying I'm not for this change, but to say that this isn't a practice in MMOs would be false.
