Afk kick timer too long...

So lately i've been paying attention to the people in "cities" (popular areas), mostly during night time when not as many people are on but even at day time. There seems to be a very common thing among the people there, a big amount of them have the AFK symbol next to their name. I understand having to go afk 5-10min, but when a big amount of people are all afk it's simply a sign that the timer for a afk kick is just way too long causing unnecessary congestion on some servers.

This is very prevelant in the server I play on at the moment which is Balmung.
Now, this server is pretty much full around the clock and impossible to create a character on. Playing at night time I notice that very often 20-25% of people in popular areas are afking.

Is it crazy of me to want a reasonable kick timer of about 25-30min to make the load on the servers lighter and allow for people to create characters without having to pay for a transfer? (which I had to do after a week of camping character creation)

There is no AFK timer. That's why you see people standing around.

They removed the AFK timer last patch. People usually stand around to show off their gear and go to sleep or something which I personally don't see a problem with. Try creating a character at very early morning during the week maybe.

afk kick timer was removed when server congestion died down after HW launch.
