    MSQ as AST need help

Hi, i just got my AST to 50 and started doing MSQ and am really struggling. Ive done a few of the instanced fights (no spoilers) and could not do enough dmg as an AST to win, having to switch to my worse geared brd just to get pass them. It shouldnt be a gear thing since its up to date but i dont know what else it could be

I dont currently have cleric stance CC so should i? would it help? anything else i could do to help get past them as an AST?

Cleric stance will help you out big time. Always switch between stances as needed when soloing

For soloing you most definitely need cleric stance. It will boost your dps by a ton. The healing classes really weren't designed to dps without it to be honest. It's not like other games where your healer dps skills do enough damage on their own. They still scale based on Intelligence and since you have little, they do little damage.

The difference between a Cleric Stance'd Gravity and a non-Cleric Stance'd Gravity at level 60 (i186) is 300 vs 1.4k. Cleric Stance is a necessity when soloing Getting Protect, Stoneskin & Swiftcast helps a bunch too.

i can't imagine at all playing without cleric stance. just get your conjurer as far to get cleric stance + protect. stoneskin doesn't matter that much yet, though its okay if u have it for later.
swiftcast can help you too,so you should level up your thaumaturge a bit as well, but swiftcast is for ressing people instantly, which is a must on a healer.

    As others mentioned before:

It is recommended, (if not mandatory) to get Cleric Stance, Protect & Swiftcast. These are not only QoL buffs, some can even change a fight (e.g. insta rezz).
Furthermore, if you got a grip on stance-dancing (knowing when you can dps in cleric and when you need to switch out of it), you can improve the dps of a group and let expert dungeons run smoother & faster.

Just a side note, if you are not sure about the mechanics of cleric stance: It swaps you INT & MND stats and furthermore increases damage from spells/abilities and decreases healing from spells/abilities, in other words you need to pay attention, because it will significantly decrease your healing output, while significantly increasing your damage output.

I wouldn't even call them QoL buffs. I'd say Swiftcast, Protect, and Cleric Stance are mandatory for all healers. A healer not dpsing and twiddling their thumbs waiting for damage to go out is annoying.

The need of Cleric Stance is even more noticeable after level 50 since before then most caster gear gives equal amount of both, mind and intelligence. So your int based damage spells have something to work with. However after the 50 the gear is role locked and you as AST have mind gear, leaving your damage spells very little int to use. Except if you switch them with CS and let your damage spells munch on your sweet amount of mnd (that's pretending to be int).

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
