Question about Setting up two Accounts

Just a quick question, if I were to buy another copy of the game for a family member to use it to play the game with them do I have to create a second new SE account for the both of us to play or can I tie a second account on my existing SE and the two of us can still play with each other on two separate computers using one of the accounts?

Or is that not possible with the second option?

I'm asking as it would be easier to tie the second FFXIV account to my SE account so both accounts are tied to the same payment method and I don't have to pay more (my brother doesn't have a debit card yet) and we can play with each other at the same time.

If that's not possible then I'll go ahead and create a brand new SE account for him and hopefully they don't mind if I use my payment method the same as my other SE account.

Just curious before I attempt to go buy another FFXIV game for him to play with his own character.

In order to play two characters at the same time, so they can play and interact together and frolic down the meadows of the shroud, you'll need two separate SE accounts.

You're best off setting him up on his own SE account.
Otherwise you'll get hit with account sharing lockouts, since technically the account belongs to you but your brother is playing it. (you'd both be logging in with the same SE credentials, which i dont think you can do simultaneously)

There are no issues whatsoever with using your Debit card to pay your sub and his sub on separate accounts, so go ahead and set up an SE account of his own. You can use your Debit card safely to pay his sub and then switch the payment plan to his card when he gets one.

Actually you're both incorrect. You can have two FFXIV service accounts on one SE account, and you can play both at the same time. You get this menu after choosing a data center:


Now why you would want to do this for two separate people, I don't know exactly. But it absolutely can be done.

I'm a little hesitant to do this, this way without a problem happening. Can anyone else vouch that this works? Just want to be doubly sure this works without problems.


And seeing I'm unable to obtain a physical PS4 copy of the game I suppose I need to buy the game digital then, though I hope if I can the game code if I send it to the same computer but with a different e-mail address. Brother's computer needs some fixsup first.

It is, although I wouldn't recommend it. I'm one person playing two service accounts using one PC.



But you could also play on two different PCs, one PC and one console, etc. Just keep in mind that you need registration codes for each separate version.
