    None of them.

    Or all of them.

The glass is either half full or half empty, either way, the answer is: they're all the same.

They can all hit very high DPS.

It all depends on how you execute it.

But the easiest to reach that sweet high number is probably DRG or BLM. The hardest is arguably MNK and the two rangers. Arguably. That means we can debate about it all year long and will still not have an answer.

DRG? I don't know honestly because all of them do well in groups. Any DPS can solo, the game is practically built around doing things solo other than the occasional Duty Finder stuff.

In my experience, having a MNK is great for panicky healing because of their mantra and BRD/MCh is good for TP/MP generation. DRG is good to have for those melee AOE stuff and post-50, they're a great addition to the team for the group-wide crit buff. NIN is great if you pair up with another bursty DPS because they have agro-management utilities, post-50.

Don't take these as your solid reasons though. These are my experience.

Sounds like SMN or DRG fits your bill.

For soloing, just avoid MNK. MNK's extreme reliance on positionals make it a real pain to solo with.

Contrary to popular belief, you can hit with your positionals while soloing mobs you have aggro on, but it's really rather counter intuitive since the mob isn't actually ever facing the exact direction it seems to be facing while it's "turning toward you". It turns toward you faster than its turning animation displays, so by the time it's looking 20-30 degrees away from you, it's actually already looking strait at you. If you take this into account, and you time it right, you can hit them in the back or flank regardless. But the timing must be absolutely perfect.

If you don't do this as MNK, your solo DPS is abysmal compared to pretty much any other Job. If you don't mind doing it, then MNK could be for you and feels very rewarding when you do manage to hit all your positionals while soloing, but otherwise you're best going with another DPS Job.

Beyond that, pretty much any DPS Job is on equal grounds for soloing. I prefer NIN, myself, due to my love of everything stealthy.

Dragoon is extremely mobile and currently one of the top dps depending on gear. It's also got pretty good survivability as long as you learn to dodge.
BLM is my fave although I don't have all the new spells yet. I love it personally despite my myriad of derps in timing for dropping leylines lol
I would like to point out, since you are a bard, that without YOU, healers, melee dps would be in a crap ton more trouble in hard fights. So don't give it up too quickly, ok?

SMN and DRG are in very good spots right now. All of them can hit >1k DPS at max level with current gearing; no DPS really gets excluded unless the party already has one of them (XIV does lightly discourage stacking classes, but it only matters in high end content).
