Trying to make a character to play with friends

I'm not a new player, but my friend/roommate is trying to make a character on the Brynhildr world to play with me.
Square Enix support won't even read my ticket and help me, so I'm stuck asking you guys.
For now my friend is on the 2 week free trial just trying the game out. However if he can't play on the same server for me he won't play the game. Is there any way to get him on my server?
When I had requested support from Square Enix he would create a character on Brynhildr and it would tell him signup is unavailable, though the list said it was available.
Now unfortunately it's no longer available, probably filled up by all the gold seller bots.

Sadly, there is little that can be done - the server restriction is based on how many people are currently logged into that server, so it can change without warning (hence why the information on the Lodestone, which is only updated once ever six hours, is usually out of date pretty quickly). All your friend can do is to try creating a character on Brynhildr during 'quiet time' for that server, such as early morning.

Another option is when your friend decides to buy the game he can then have his character transferred from his current server to Brynhildr, although this costs money to do so. I'm really sorry, but there is no real easy fix to this I'm afraid - the server troubles are basically reflective of the game being a victim of it's own success. Most servers are overpopulated and thus have restrictions on new characters being created, and as the servers can only handle a certain number of players logged in at once, there is no easy solution I'm sorry.

Still the knowledge that it depends on how many people are currently logged in is very useful. I was worried it was more of a "no characters can be created on this server for a couple of months" type of thing.
If we just need to log in at the right time, I'll try having him login around 3am or so this weekend.

Was trying to do the same thing. I kept my eye on the list showing which servers were available and which were not for about two weeks. The one I wanted, Excalibar, was never available. I saw that all world maintenance can be finished up to an hour earlier than their intention. Got up at that time and started trying and what do you know, every single world was available as soon as maintenance ended. Very happy now that the person who actually recruited me and I can play together.
