Lag on peak times since 2.55

Hello, PS4 user. I was lucky enough to not have any lag issues until 2.55 where I started to get lag during peak times on week nights, since 2.55 the lag issues progressively become worse. I have Verizon Fios running 75/75 connection, my PS4 is wired to my modem. I don't think it's the service since I've been using Fios since the launch of 2.0 and I haven't had this kind of lag until now. Though I did upgrade my modem/router to one of the Fios Gateway routers this past weekend and the issue still continues.

I really do enjoy this game but it's getting to the point where I can't even consider running Bismark or Ravana EX fights, and there is no way I can do Alexander Savage with these issues on peak nights. I don't think this is an issue with my isp as it just happened with an update with the game, and I've heard many others with different other ISPs having the same issue. I really hope SE is working on this, or at least aware of this.

I'm on Balmung btw, and I know Aether has two of the most populated servers in the game.

I've also been having the same issue since 2.55 as well.

During the first week after 2.55 I would lag during peak times but it stopped shortly after. Fast forward to the day after Heavensward early access ended and it has been non-stop lag every day during peak times.

The in-game connection icon shows my Received value changing depending on my location, (FC house, city, or dungeon). It goes as low as 30 and shoots up as high as 7,000. Anything above 2,000 and gameplay becomes stop and go.

I'm having horrible lag for several hours tonight (still ongoing) in FFXIV. People are warping around like crazy. It takes several seconds for a teleport request to actually initiate. Even showing/hiding my helm takes seconds to respond. Other people in my FC are reporting the same issue, although not everyone.

I did a ping to my server's IP and got a fairly consistent 25%-75% packet loss. A trace shows several timeouts within a handful of hops to the server. Not much I can do about that but hope it clears up.

Yeah I contacted Verizon again and they said it's something with the game server, and seeing as it's only FFXIV being affected, there isn't much I can use for my case. I want to portforward FFXIV but I have a Fios Gateway G1100 and portforward.com doesn't have any guides for it.

Also I really don't think this is Verizon, if other people with different ISPs are having similar issues that I am having, then this has got to be the game servers, and sorry I don't think we should have to use programs like WTFast or Battleping (can't use them anyways since I'm on PS4) to fix my connection, I've never had to do that with any other MMO game in my life. I never even had this kind of lag issues playing FFXI on a PS2 while on DSL wireless.

Omg... Guys this is EXACTLY my problem too. Ever since 2.55. The EXACT DAY 2.55 was released I have been having lag. verizon Fios 75/75 New Jersey. My tracert is VERY similar to yours there is something going on either at level3 or the hop before it which is HIDDEN. Always during peak hours. The game has become unplayable.

verizon has said to me and others that they are only responsible for the first 5 hops. After that it's beyond their controls. I have so many friends on my server with the EXACT same story. Some with verizon, many with other ISPs. It was patch 2.55 that did this.

Your not alone bro. Been having lag issues since 3.0 launch. I've tried several things to try to help this, but it just isn't happening. There was supposedly a ISP maintenance a few nights ago...didn't seem to help much. Maybe it has been going on since 2.55, like others have stated above. I just know, for me, lag has been getting more and more severe since Heavensward launched. My ISP is Atlantic Broadband and I really don't think it's on my end, cause every other thing I use my internet for works without a hitch.

Every single night around 5ish PM PST to about 8-9ish PM PST I get insane lag that causes 5-10 lag spikes/delays every few seconds rendering the game unplayable and those are the main times I can play the game. Its increasingly becoming frustrating to the point that I may cancel my sub.
