What would you want to bring over from FFXI to FFXIV?

Any of the open world content. Any long term non instanced goal. Anything at all.

I hate when Sunday rolls around and I realize I capped my tomes, finished the weekly challenge logs that are relevant to me, weekly reset content like alex normal are done, and my static is done raiding and I realize, there's nothing to do except farm glamour gear in dungeons. There's nothing to do except cue for some random thing I don't need.

If that happened in xi I could go work on my mythic, or try for that rare NM. Or go grab a buddy (or dual box mule) and farm pops in sky or sea for my LS's next event night. Or go work on a magian trial. Or make gil because it was worth soemthing. Farm some pops in abyssea for my empyream weapon. Or (later anyway) go farm some dynamism coins for my relic. Or go level my campaign rank so I could aces throne room. Or jump in that besieged. Or test my mettle solo or duo on some scary mob.

I miss having RELEVANT solo and low man content that wasn't locked out. I want something to do besides meet weekly quotas. Anything. That's why I liked relic weapons. It was the ONLY content like that in the game. 3.1 needs to hurry up with new relics.

I hope the new WoW expansion becomes so successful that SE looses players so Yoshi P can understand this loyal WoW fanbase he wanted so bad left him.

I have a feeling WoW and FFXIV will both slowly become less and less popular. Maybe not to the point of going free 2 play. But this system of only having 45 min or so of daily content before your capped, and only the latest raid matters (or in ffxiv case only the latest 4 turns of the latest raid) isn't going to entertain a lot of people for long.

As much as people hated ffxi because it was grindy, the amount of stuff to do at level cap blows WoW and FFXIV combined out the water.

Whocareswhatmynameis: I swear you are my favourite person on this board you totally get it. Most people on this forum are non FFXI players so they dont what we are talking about. They got the game handed down to them in the gaming mentality like their previous games like WoW etc. The last topic you defended me in people became quiet fast when they figured out more people share our views. This thread is amazing. You can tell people here actually care about this game and are not here because of some hype train. Its just sad and depressing that people in this thread are people Yoshi P don't care about at all since we are that 10% of the market base people are yapping about.

Campaign used to be really fun but it was a little too large scale - still I think the concept would be interesting in FFXIV.

Red Mage was in FF1, Mystic Knight came later, there is no "former self".

Will any petition help if we start one? Since we are copying Wow so much why not use some FFXI elements too?

I wouldn't mind the inn room being furnish able....and upgrading your inn room through quests, instead of being giant money sinks.

Housing in this game has been a black eye, imo. I love when housing and questing are related ... like in EQ2 where you could pay rent in status gained from quests... or in FFXI where you could upgrade your room via quests.
