one reason to not give them to gladiators would be that gladiators already also get daggers, though I'm not terribly well informed about how different they are from regular swordsI mean, the way I see it, Thaumaturges and Conjurers have both One-handed and Two-handed weapons. I don't really see a reason for them to not toss 2h swords to Gladiators. It would simply allow them access to a more potent weapon when soloing or not filling a direct tanking role.
Basing an entirely new class around the Greatsword seems like it would be kind of a moot point with the variety of DPS classes we already have.
I'd imagine it'd more likely be a marauder weapon honestly.
Daggers are just high accuracy/low damage one-handed weapons. Not really any major difference from other gladiator arms - just tailored to a specific use, like the rest of the variations of one-handed blades. However, they lack a weapon with any umhpf - which is exactly what a two-handed weapon could bring to the table.
Marauder already has a two-handed weapon. I'd almost figure we'd see one-handed axes for Marauder before an entirely different type of weapon.
I guess it comes down to how you think of it. I always thought of marauder as two handed melee and gladiator as one handed melee.Daggers are just high accuracy/low damage one-handed weapons.
