I don't think its ps3 limitations or hardware limitations I think its how the developers coded the Character Customization points. Adding sliders is not increasing the texutres on the character its just changing the skeleton so we can take individual parts of the character model and manipulate it. I'm sure modders can design a mod for the game that would add sliders if it were alowed.

depends on the limits to the sliders. vindictus did this one pretty well.
(tbh if 3rd party modders could figure out a fast method to link your gear and in game model to a body shape change function for skyrim, i'm sure a bunch of well-payed devs at SE could figure it out.)
Love these types of commentsWhile that would be really cool, you also have to remember that people play this game on very low-end systems. It'd have to be able to load each and every possible option many times over due to having a variance of players coming in and out of view.
I would be all for more options in the character creator, but perhaps not at the sacrifice of being able to play smoothly.. Please don't give false information and give square more of a reason not to upgrade it. It will not cause any lag whatsoever, if the textures were 1-2k resolution yeah maybe we'd lose a little bit of FPS but these textures are only 512-512 or less. Nobody here is running a Pentium 4 with windows 98..which is the only system something like this would have an effect on.
There are mods, apparently, that specifically let you change the current values of several things way past what's already possible, but of course it's only clientside and therefore only visible to you.
As an example of this http://40.media.tumblr.com/b9790ff76...38vo1_1280.png someone using one of these said mods to make their character massive in height. I've seen the same person make their model big enough to the point where their knee while sitting down when to like Gridania to the middle of Central Shroud. As a side note, the source where I got that image (Soooo not linking it) also has a person editing the value for their chest to make them massive (to an almost hilarious level tbh).
How has this thread gone for 3 pages without the obvious? O.o
WE NEED BUTT SLIDERS!
i want more tattoos. there is an option for tattoos, but it's almost nothing there... :O
If we can't have more essential things, like storage space, due to technical limitation, why do you think we can have this amount of character customization?
The amount of data that needs to be stored and backups as well... Not to mention the loading times for slower internet would be increased and the amount of work to put into molding gear into each body type.... Imagine if you're a fat Hyur or a very busty Female Roe, the stretch of clothes on your gear would be noticeable and they have to fix that....
If I want a more detailed character customization, I just want the feature to customize my face. The eyebrows, my eyes, my hair, my nose, my mouth and jawlines... that sort of thing. It will not impact gear but still offer customization. If I get a penny for every time I see a twin face such as me, I would get about three fiddy.
tl;dr Don't give body customization. Give face customization.
100% agree ^This. I don't really expect SE to go full-on slider-style customization (though at the very least they should give everyone muscle sliders...). But I do want to see far more preset options, on all customization levels.
Character creation is one of this game's weakest points. :/ They'd do well to improve it.
While I'm okay with just more preset options, this is a really silly excuse. SE seems to have so much trouble with things that don't bother any other mmo...
