More interesting landscapes/areas, {can i have it}?

..well personally when i started to play everything looked amazing. Very well done over all, but..

..im getting tired running around in the repetitive areas. Its like they have just copied and pasted sections of the same parts to make it as huge as they can..

Black shroud for example, no change at all in the landscape, same sections, maybe just rotated a bit to make it look like a new place.. Same trees and same grass, same mobs and same same of everything, generally speaking.. Why did they not make areas in the areas, like small deserts in Black shroud, a forest in Thanalan, with a couple of oasis places, different kinds of swamps here and there surrounded by dark forests in the regions, or in a couple of them. More creative places to explore, or just enjoy watching at least? A huge stream right through somewhere.. I can go on and on..

Another thing that they really shuld do is the connection between the regions, like when your going from Black shroud to Thanalan there should be a change in the landscape before you reach the loading screen to that region. So you know youre getting close to something else, and not like it is now, suddently youre in a desert. And of course the other way around. Visually changes are needed.. Also in the other regions as well.. More of all you can think of, everywhere!

Black Shroud actually has the best looking places in the game if you go off the main path. Tree houses, strange glowing trees, old worn down temples, streams with waterfalls, lakes, a strange place with deep chasms. Most zones have good looking places the issue is square for what ever reason made the low rank areas especially in the shroud too copy pasted.

AS for the change of landscape I agree that would of blended the transition alot better. Alot of mmos do this though WoW sorta has it Forest into a waste land, Aion had it, XI had it so it seems to be a common thing.

They said they are looking into modifying the world maps in the future, but I would imagine that would be a massive undertaking. I would not expect it for along time. Black Shroud alone would be like rewriting 4 whole zones in XI.

This has been discussed to death pretty much since beta. The zones are large but there is little to no variation and there is a lot of blatant use of copy+paste. It's a huge step back from the varied and interesting locations of FFXI.

unfortunately since we're not paying a montly fee YET (which I probably won't)
they can take their sweet time, it's been a year, hell why not give them another one?

Second year=new land mass Oh and you will have to pay for it with an expansion, you betcha!!

This has been one my biggest peeves about the game from day 1. I'd really like to see more character and uniqueness in every part of every zone. I would gladly buy an expansion even if all it did was give the entire world map a face lift.
